The Sourcing Specialist will be a part of the Food and Beverage Category Sourcing Team; and be responsible for Food and Beverage related Sourcing & Procurement activities with a focus on client management, category management, and technical solutions in support of business units within the Company. You will be accountable for The Walt Disney Parks and Resorts sourcing initiatives, consider supply chain processes and infrastructure improvements to drive reductions in Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) without compromising business strategy and performance. You will participate on cross- functional teams responsible for developing and implementing strategic sourcing arrangements with preferred suppliers.
The Sourcing Specialist will continuously improve the Company’s procured to pay process by identifying and leading efforts with affected departments to reduce cycle times, improve customer service and reduce total costs. The Sourcing Specialist will source and negotiate supply relationships for internal clients.
What Will You Do?
Understand and assist in the development and execution of performance management programs with suppliers that focus on quality, service responsiveness, and costAssist with Annual Strategic Plan development; forecast and trackDemonstrate exemplary integrity and ethics in all instancesManage supplier relationshipsTotal cost / supply analysis to identify opportunities to achieve optimal valueParticipate in professional development activities to keep abreast of current industry best practicesContinually assess market conditions and develop sourcing strategies that maximize value to the CompanyEvaluate supplier fit based on pre-determined selection criteria; prepare and execute clear, structured negotiations following pre-defined Strategic Sourcing methodologyEnsure compliance with Strategic Sourcing and policies and best practices Lead cross-functional sourcing projects that meet internal client’s requirementsCommunicate and report to management the status of any critical external relationships that could affect planning and decision-makingAnalyze marketing industry trends and conditions that affect internal stakeholders and external suppliers and/or pricingDevelop, implement, monitor and report status, performance measures that demonstrate value and ensure supplier performancePosition the organization for success in the ever-evolving marketplace by focusing on Total Cost of Ownership, Supplier Diversification (geographic, size, capabilities, etc.), increasing our Diverse Supplier base/spend, Innovation, Technology, and SustainabilityRequired Qualifications & Skills
3 years or more experience in the food and beverage operations, strategic sourcing and/or supply chain disciplinesStrong relationship building and negotiation skills to effectively engage stakeholdersAbility to effectively communicate with various peer/client communication stylesAbility to collaborate and work in a diverse/team environmentProficient in Excel, PowerPoint, and WordOrganizational and time management skills to juggle multiple projectsHave a deep working knowledge of the interactive relationship between the feed crops of Barley, Corn, Sorghum, Soybean, & Wheat, to the domestic & international livestock species of Beef, Lamb, Pork, & Poultry. Possess the knowledge and ability to efficiently and effectively manage the complex integrated Supply Chain of whole muscle cuts of Box Beef, Lamb, Pork, & Poultry, from the abattoir to the purveyor, through the fabrication & manufacturing process converting whole muscles into specified portion cuts; clearly negotiating with the purveyor fabrication yield factors, and by-product values to establish final product cost to the Center of the Plate. Possess the knowledge and understanding of the manufacturing of multiple lean/fat contents of ground beef, and burgers from whole muscle beef cuts originating from multiple quality grades, and the manufacturing costing formula associated with each product category; and to negotiate the key manufacturing input cost of yield factors, labor, packaging, and overheadPrior work experience within Distributor, Hotel, Manufacturer, or Restaurant businessInternal customer focus – ability to identify/solicit key stakeholder needs; develop solutions to address their needsEducation
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Business, other quantitative disciplineAgricultural and/or Food Science experience a plus and Master’s degree preferredAdditional Information
