This is a hybrid role. The first three months are full-time in the office.
Plans, coordinates, and performs engineering assignments in support of the system models in SCADA DMS and NMS/OMS systems. Ensures system models are validated and operational from the post GIS extract through input into the production DMS/NMS environments. Recommends GIS design changes and works closely with GIS personnel to ensure accurate data is contained in the base GIS models. Works closely with SCADA/EMS/DMS personnel to ensure system models are consistent and operational. Provides analysis on system models to ensure operational models closely resemble field conditions. Trains and oversees other personnel in the department involved in the DMS/OMS operational models.
Essential Functions:
Provides input on employee performance to System Operations Support Supervisor/Manager
Provides day-to-day management of job assignments for DMS/OMS model analysis
Acts on behalf of System Operations Support supervisor in their absence as assigned.
Directs the operations of the DMS/OMS model build and oversees the electronic applications into production of all newly created or revised GIS databases
Maximizes the performance of the DMS/OMS systems to meet operational and engineering needs
Develops and implements training material for OMS/DMS systems and products
Monitors and evaluates potential enhancements / new products that enable full implementation of our DMS/OMS models
Provides technical expertise in the fields of GIS model extraction, validation, and model synching of the two database models and SCADA mapping of the distribution assets to the system models.
Supports System Operations control rooms with DMS/OMS requirements of the GIS systems
Prepares technical specifications and evaluates proposals relative to “outside services” mapping requirements
Provides technical leadership for the model build group as well as problem solving and training
Codes and preps various aspects of a project. Performs quality control of data preparation and database input to support facility data and connectivity model. Creates and maintains various menu/key driven applications.
Updates digital data and matching database requirements
Technical Knowledge/Skill/Education/Licenses/Certifications:
Technical Knowledge/Skill:
Symbols and terminology used in civil or electronic engineering drawings.
GIS/Cad software: Smallworld, Adele, Microstation
Digitizing and data manipulation procedures for GIS
Technical expertise in the use of computer software and computer systems related to AM/FM (Automated Mapping and Facility Management) GIS system development.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer relations skills
Ability to organize, plan, and efficiently multi-task in a high-volume, high productivity environment
Requires well-rounded understanding of the technologies, principles, and processes used in the GIS/Mapping organization
GE eterra Distribution and associated software utilized in the GIS post extraction model build process.
Excellent analytical skills, ability to quantify data, and make sound decisions of goals
Education:
Bachelor of Science Degree, engineering preferred, will accept the educational equivalent or equivalent work experience
Experience:
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in engineering or engineering support activities.

Must be available to work emergency restoration assignment as required.
Must be available to travel between MA/CT/NH as necessary.
Compensation and Benefits:
