Senior Specialist, Information Services Change Management
Reporting into the Director of Clinical Information Services at Dana-Farber, the Information Services Change Management Senior Specialist will play a pivotal role in ensuring the successful initiation, planning, adoption and integration of new processes, technologies, and partnerships within our organization. This role will focus on developing and executing comprehensive change management strategies and communication plans to support the technology and workflow transition to a new hospital partnership and the construction of a new inpatient hospital. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in change management, excellent communication skills, and a strong understanding of the healthcare industry and is competent in working within the technology domain. The Senior Specialist will lead the change management and organizational readiness activities for the Technology, Data and Analytics (TD&A) governance program to aid in Dana-Farber’s preparation and execution of information technology work for the new collaboration and future cancer hospital efforts. In partnership with the IS Strategic Planning & Performance Director they will ensure alignment on timelines, impacts, decisions, and preparation activities. In partnership with the Head of Change Management for DFCI, using DFCI change management models, methods and strategies, they will develop plans that support and maximize employee adoption, the role will work closely with project teams to integrate change management activities into the overall project plans. The role will build out a communications plan and change management framework for the technology, data and analytics workstream and be a partner in supporting and aligning to the broader Institute change management framework. The role must build effective relationships and collaborate across all levels in the Information Services department, Communications, HR and other various clinical and administrative departments within the Institute to help assess and identify change impact and integrate successful organizational readiness activities in a dynamic, complex environment. This is a capitalized temporary position with full benefits that is expected to run for 24-36 months with the possibility of extension. Change Management Strategy: + Develop and implement a change management strategy that aligns with the organization's change management methods, models, goals and objectives. + Identify potential risks and resistance to change and develop mitigation strategies to address them. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and integration of change management activities. + Adapt messages and stakeholder management techniques to meet the needs of various stakeholders, ranging from executives to line employees. Stakeholder Engagement: + Identify and engage key stakeholders, including hospital staff, leadership, and external partners, to ensure buy-in and support for the change initiatives. + Facilitate workshops, meetings, and training sessions to educate stakeholders on the benefits and impact of the changes. Communication Planning: + In partnership with Workforce Communications, Develop and execute a comprehensive communication plan to keep all stakeholders informed and engaged throughout the transition process. + Create clear, concise, and compelling communication materials, including presentations, newsletters, and digital content. Training and Support: + Collaborate with the training team to develop and deliver training programs that equip staff with the necessary skills and knowledge to adapt to new processes and technologies. + Provide ongoing support and guidance to staff during the transition period. Monitoring and Evaluation: + Partner with the DFCI Change Management team to establish metrics and feedback mechanisms to assess the effectiveness of change management and communication efforts. + Continuously monitor progress and adjust strategies as needed to ensure successful outcomes. + Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Communications, Organizational Development, or a related field. + Minimum of 10 years’ organizational transformation and/or communications experience. + Minimum of 7 years’ experience in organizational change management activities involving process, technology and/or behavior change. **KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:** + Proven experience in change management and communications, preferably within the healthcare or technology sector (example: J. Kotter, W. Bridges, ADKAR, NeuroLeadership Institute). + New technology implementation or transformation experience preferred. + Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale, high-impact, highly complex, cross-functional initiatives. + Proven understanding of change management, communication, organizational effectiveness, training, and instructional design concepts and best practices. + Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and concisely. + Strong meeting facilitation and presentation skills. + Strong interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders. + Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines. + Ability to develop and deliver clear messages and training materials to a variety of audiences using various channels. + Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
