We are seeking an experienced and driven Senior Specialist, in our Global Endpoint Engineering team, to lead the implementation and support of a new MDM solution at Celestica. In this role, you will be responsible for evaluating, selecting, and deploying an MDM solution that meets our global needs for managing and securing endpoints (desktops and laptops). You will play a critical role in ensuring the successful rollout and adoption of the chosen MDM solution across the organization, collaborating with IT teams worldwide and providing expert guidance and support.
Detailed DescriptionPerforms tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:
MDM Selection and Implementation:
Lead the evaluation: Conduct a thorough assessment of available MDM solutions, considering factors like functionality, security, scalability, and cost-effectiveness. Develop the strategy: Create a comprehensive MDM implementation plan, including timelines, resource allocation, and communication strategies. Oversee the deployment: Lead the technical implementation of the chosen MDM solution, configuring policies, profiles, and security settings. Ensure seamless integration: Integrate the MDM solution with existing IT infrastructure and systems, such as Active Directory and endpoint security tools.Global Rollout and Support:
Coordinate global efforts: Collaborate with IT teams across different regions to ensure a smooth and consistent MDM rollout worldwide. Provide expert guidance: Offer technical expertise and guidance to local IT teams on MDM configuration, deployment, and troubleshooting. Develop training and documentation: Create and deliver training programs and documentation to educate IT staff and end-users on the use and benefits of the MDM solution.Ongoing Management and Optimization:
Monitor and maintain: Continuously monitor the performance and health of the MDM solution, proactively addressing any issues or concerns. Optimize configurations: Fine-tune MDM policies and configurations to enhance security, improve user experience, and support business needs. Stay up-to-date: Keep abreast of the latest MDM technologies and best practices to ensure the solution remains effective and aligned with industry standards. Knowledge/Skills/CompetenciesTechnical Skills:
MDM expertise: In-depth knowledge of multiple MDM platforms (e.g., Microsoft Intune, VMware Workspace ONE, MobileIron) with a strong understanding of their capabilities and limitations. Endpoint management: Extensive experience managing and securing endpoints (desktops and laptops) in a diverse environment. Operating systems: Strong understanding of Windows operating system, including security configurations and management tools. Networking and infrastructure: Familiarity with networking concepts, security protocols, and IT infrastructure components relevant to MDM deployments. Scripting and automation: Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) for automating MDM tasks and integrations.Other Skills:
Project management: Proven ability to manage complex IT projects, including planning, execution, and stakeholder communication. Strong communication and collaboration: Excellent communication skills to effectively convey technical information and collaborate with global teams. Problem-solving and analytical skills: Ability to troubleshoot MDM-related issues, analyze data, and identify opportunities for optimization. Leadership and mentorship: Ability to guide and mentor IT staff on MDM best practices and provide technical leadership. Physical Demands Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required. Typical Experience 7 to 10 years of related experience. Hands-on experience with MDM solutions, including implementation, configuration, and support in a large enterprise environment. Typical EducationBachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
Relevant certifications are a plus.
