Senior Specialist, Large Contract & Int Surety

What You’ll Do

Serve as the lead underwriter for technically sophisticated accounts, ensuring flawless execution and strict adherence to Aviva’s Risk & Control Framework.

Present underwriting decisions that fall outside of delegated authority to appropriate levels within the Aviva Surety business, including reinsurance.

Strategically grow and manage the existing large domestic and international contract surety accounts to compete in the global market.

Collaborate with Surety team members to ensure accurate and timely administration of risks and policies.

Assist the broader Surety team in underwriting larger Contract Surety branch accounts.

Act as a subject matter expert on P3 projects and bond wordings, providing mentorship and support to branch members as needed.

Develop and manage key broker and contractor relationships to ensure ongoing success and growth.

What You’ll Bring

University degree or equivalent experience required; Accounting or finance designation is an asset.

Broad knowledge of business, accounting, construction, finance, and risk management.

A minimum of 5 years of proven experience working with financial statements.

Strong knowledge of credit analytics for construction companies.

Experience in providing analytics and reports to support credit granting decisions is desirable.

Outstanding knowledge of credit analytics for public companies.

Demonstrated ability to build trust and credibility with collaborators, customers, and team members both internally and externally.

Proven track record to excel in strategic thinking and problem-solving, with outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

Outstanding ability to multi-task and manage conflicting priorities.

Strong negotiation and persuasion skills.

Highly organized with a passion and enthusiasm for the surety line of business.
