The Structural & Fluid Mechanics Technology department develops pump technologies and solutions for tomorrow as we explore and realize innovative concepts. This is your chance to make an impact.
The department is accountable for identifying and developing new technologies, building novel capabilities, and driving innovation within structural and fluid mechanics. Further, we provide specialist support to cross-disciplinary innovation projects where structural and fluid mechanics are pivotal.

**What do you need to apply?**

We are seeking the right candidate for the position as **Senior Mechanics Specialist** to join our Technology Development organization in Bjerringbro, Denmark. In the position, you will explore opportunities, develop, realize, and validate new innovations for pumps and pump solutions within the field of mechanics. You will do so by applying structural and fluid mechanical simulations to realize better, faster, _and_ cheaper concepts.

**Your main responsibilities** **:**
+ Innovate new technology as a specialist in projects, working with peers to develop new solutionsto meet the water challenges of tomorrow. For instance, this could be a new innovative concept for improving access to clean drinking water.
+ Scout, source, and develop new technologies within the field of mechanics to improve the performance and quality of future Grundfos products and solutions.
+ Drive capability building and provide technical supportin the field of structural mechanics.
+ Participate in university/partner collaborations.
+ Synthesize product concepts by combining your expertise in mechanical design with technologies from various disciplines like fluid mechanics, sensors, and engineering materials.
+ Apply state-of-art development methods of which training will be part of your onboarding:
+ Simulation Driven Development within structural mechanics (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
+ Optimization studies to recognize sensitivities and areas of improvement in the design.
+ Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM).
**Your background**
+ M.Sc. in mechanical engineering or similar.
+ 4-8 years of relevant work experience besides formal education.
+ Technical background/knowledge within FEA, CFD, and optimization.
+ Flair for mechanical design, as well as knowledge of manufacturing methods, engineering materials, and methods for concept development.

**Position and Reporting:**
+ The position is senior mechanics specialist in the department of Structural & Fluid Mechanics Technology with report to head of department, Tobias Randers Olesen.Tobias has been with Grundfos since 2013, where he has been involved in various development activities in fields such as hydraulic design, SDD, and new concepts. As head of the department, Tobias is building the framework for a collaborative and empowered team built on trust, and he strives to be present, prepared, and trustworthy in his leadership.
+ The department is part of Technology Development in the Global Technology and Innovation organization in Grundfos. This is where new technology is pioneered in Grundfos.
