Senior Specialist, Operations Applications (Maximo)

POSITION OVERVIEW

The Senior Specialist, IT Operations Applications reports to the Manager, IT Operations Applications and is responsible to lead and participate in the functional design, development, support, maintenance, and configuration of operations and maintenance (O&M) applications, support other peripheral applications and interfaces as well as provide support to Engineering and Design (E&D) applications.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES

Works with O&M and E&D user community and provide excellent user support for Maximo and related business processes. Gather and analyze business requirements, prepare workflow diagrams, and develop functional design documents. Execute and implement solutions according to business requirements and flow, including deployment of new and enhanced functionality. Investigate and resolve complex problems through research and functional analysis. Provide continual assessment and review of unit testing and integration plans to ensure solutions meet business needs and function as designed. Effectively communicate work status information, design discussions and issues with the team comprised of resources from IT, consultants, and end-users. Keep applications current with appropriate patches or upgrades. Review change management procedures and follow methodology for moving functional set-up or configuration into production. Participate on 24/7 on call rotation schedule. Manage projects and provide guidance during establishment of business requirements, white boarding sessions and workshops. Provide scope of projects and high-level design of a solution.  Continuous learning of new technologies that could help provide the right solutions to customers.  Use a broad range of technical skills including but not limited to:  SQL Database Development Programming and scripting using SQL, JavaScript, Python, PowerShell, and XML Data reporting using tools such as BIRT, Eclipse, SSRS, MS Power BI, Tableau and others.

 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

Knowledge:

Knowledge of and experience with work management, asset management, workflows, purchasing, inventory management, and supply chain business processes Functional and technical knowledge of Actuate BIRT reporting Experience gathering and developing business requirements including creation of test cases/scripts and matching those test cases/scripts to requirements Configuration experience in Maximo database objects, presentation layer and workflows Functional and technical knowledge of Maximo 7.6 or later MIF Objects Auto Scripting Data loading XML Application Designer Engineering applications: Primavera P6 Autodesk Suite (AutoCAD, Vault) Aspentech Suite (Hysys)

 

Preferred:

Functional and technical knowledge of Oracle E-Business Suite. Experience with integration to Oracle EBS via Oracle SOA. Functional and technical knowledge of Electronic Logbooks applications such as shift handover, operator orders. Functional and technical knowledge of Permit to Work applications. Functional and technical knowledge of Lab sampling applications used to sample natural gas. Functional and technical knowledge of Management of Change (MOC) applications Functional and technical knowledge of Work Orders scheduling software or similar application.

 

Skills:

Excellent communication (verbal and written), interpersonal and analytical skills are essential. Organizational, presentation and report writing skills, including documentation and writing skills. Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team. Ability to troubleshoot technical/functional issues. Functional, analytical and some technical abilities sufficient for the support, maintenance, and configuration of Maximo. Ability to interact effortlessly with business/user community to determine and document functional/technical requirements. Documentation of Meeting Minutes, Business Workflows and Requirements, Functional Design Specifications, and Test Cases for user acceptance testing. Strong collaboration skills to work with multiple teams on common issues, ability to multitask, appropriately manage the priorities and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment. Flexible and adaptable in regard to learning and understanding of new functionalities. Highly logical, proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented with outstanding organizational skills. Ability to learn new technology and programming languages in support of application modifications and development.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Education:  Bachelor’s degree required, preferably Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, or related technical degree.

 

Experience: Minimum of five (5) years relevant work experience. Preferred experience includes Maximo implementation/support, full life cycle experience with all aspects of application setup/testing/user training/production support, writing scripts and programming, and recording meeting minutes/developing application implementation documentation.

WORK CONDITIONS

Job is performed in a typical office environment, but is subject to time pressures and constraints, and is often dependent on input from others.  Occasionally, work may be performed from home, after normal work hours or on weekends.  Periodically travel as business requires. Subject to drug and alcohol testing, per applicable federal regulations or as required by Cheniere.
