Job Summary
This is a position within the Global Regulatory Affairs department of the H&B business segment. Primarily, the ideal candidate will be dealing with the following products:Botanical extracts, Litesse (Polydextrose), Betaine, Bioscience ingredients. The market of focus will be China, but would also be expected to support other members of the same team with their tasks when needed.
How you will contribute and lead
Keeping up to date with new food raw material & new food additive application.
China: New food raw material & new food additive application dossier preparation, debate and follow up for botanicals and other Health & Biosciences raw materials.ROW: Future GRAS dossier preparation for Botanical extractsProvide on-time regulatory support to Health & Biosciences products.
Provide on-time and reliable regulatory support to customers of special nutrients: bioscience, botanicals etc., securing the regulatory compliance of these products.China regulatory checklist for botanicals.Update the Power BI regulatory-pathway database for H&B products (mainly for plant extracts and special nutrients).Flag any regulatory issues that could potentially jeopardize the local business.
Provide regional input to global regulatory affairs strategies and execute regional strategies.
Provide on-time regional input with various existing projectsProvide feedback with comments on relevant Trade Mark Level Agreements (TMLAs) relevant to the Botanical extracts, Bioscience products, Litesse and BetaineLiaise with local business managers on product applications strategy and offer a regional perspective of the product's capabilities for expansion to different markets based on regulatory ground.Advocacy
Keep local interactions on regulatory projects with the authorities and other stakeholders (NHC, CFSA, SAMR, Industry association, KOL)Stay on top of and be updated on local regulatory requirements and involve in the advocacy of the key regulations or standards.Participate in the research, regulations or guidelines related to hierarchical and classified management of plant extracts.Participate in the work of the Raw Materials Professional Committee of China Nutrition and Health Food Association and organize industry discussions as the rotating chairman.Attend and participate in other workshops/meetings relative to work.What you will need to be successful
A degree (BSc) or a higher degree (MSc) in a relative science field (Biology, Botany, Biochemistry etc.).Minimum 6 years experience in the food/food supplement manufacturing industry.Have knowledge on Botanicals, Extracts and Bioscience, in particular, when these are linked to the building of dossiers not just for the Chinese market, but also outside the Chinese market (i.e. GRAS dossiers for the US or Novel Food Dossiers for the EU).Good team player, self motivated and detail oriented, offering a great deal of value to the H&B Botanicals, Extracts and Bioscience GRA team.Knowledge and excellent command of the English language.We are a global leader in taste, scent, and nutrition, offering our customers a broader range of natural solutions and accelerating our growth strategy.
