Position OverviewThe Sr Specialist, Sales & Operations will work with a team of perishable sales specialists. They will also consult, advise, and direct the retail customer base on the best practices to grow fresh market share and increased perishable revenue and profitability. The position will engage decision makers and Independent Retailers to assist with the sales and merchandising of Meat, Deli, Bakery and Produce Categories as well as work to increase the volume of products and programs that the company offers.

Job DescriptionExecute daily, weekly, monthly and quarterly sell programsLead and develop perishable sell programsProvide regular Category Training on new items, merchandising and departmental best practices to retailers and teamInform special activities, demand forecasts, product surveys and promotional bookingsOptimize category assortment and close key category voids in conjunction with Category Management and merchandising/ Procurement team(s)Assist Fresh department managers, owners, and/or supervisors with product selection, training on new products and proper merchandising, retails to establish proper gross profits for departments, assist writing ads using ad program, and maintain the product list with acceptable retailsMake routed individual store visits to assist retailers in achieving and maintaining a business relationship with the company, including problem solving, negotiating, and development of programs while securing integrity and trust between our company and the retailerSell special buy programs and the associated merchandising programsInform both the retailer and team of competitive activities both locally and nationallyConduct sales of new programs and services; understand and explain the company's programs and services to the retailer's buyers / representativesTravel Required: Yes
