Senior Specialist I - Clinical

Your role:

• Should have a good understanding of the clinical workflows in the product areas concerned. For example – CT/MRI applications development, he/she should be well versed in the CT and MRI domain (the scanner types, different scanning techniques, details of some clinical applications etc.)

• Should be able to clarify all clinical requirements obtained from end customers and marketing and translate them into a mode that can be communicated to engineering teams (development and verification).

• Should be able to define and provide clarity on clinical workflows in the domain of concern – for example CT/MRI in the above example

• Should be able to improve the clinical competence of development and verification teams through clinical sessions/workshops etc.

• Should write relevant use case documents or requirements documents based on the high level marketing and end-customer requirements

• Should possess hands on experience in authoring and maintaining use case and requirements documents.

• Should be able to test the system under development from an expert verifier point of view and identify bugs and deviations from the originally defined requirements. Should be able to identify and report critical issues involving patient safety and hazardous situations (e.g. wrong identification of patients) etc.

• Should be able to understand the concepts of product validation along with the regulatory aspects associated with it and be able to work in the validation team for product validation.

• Should be able to classify /provide clinical inputs to classify defects judiciously (keeping in the mind patient safety, product quality etc.)

• Should have a fair understanding of software development life cycle

• Should possess good communication skills coupled with a solid understanding of the clinical domain
 

Key Areas of Responsibilities (KARs):

Define clinical requirements and provide clinical support to AV/AI Apps R&D in the form of requirements clarification, pre-beta product evaluation, expert testing, defects classification etc.Should be able to clarify all clinical requirements obtained from end customers and marketing and translate them into a mode that can be communicated to engineering teams (development and verification).Should be updated with the latest happening in the clinical field in the domain of concern.Should be able to understand the concepts of product validation along with the regulatory aspects associated with it and be able to work in the validation team for product validation.Should be able to classify /provide clinical inputs to classify defects judiciously (keeping in the mind patient safety, product quality etc.)Build and maintain good relationship with our Beta/ collaboration sitesImprove clinical competence of R&D - Understand the clinical needs (knowledge gaps) and plug the gaps by dissemination of clinical knowledge

Role Competence/Skills:

In-depth knowledge of Clinical MRI and CT.In-depth knowledge of the MRI/CT Imaging techniques, MRI/CT Physics and post-processing in MRI/CT domain.Added advantage to have expertise on Cardiovascular MRI.Knowledge of the software development life cycle with in-depth understanding of the requirements, verification and validation phases preferably SAFE Agile.Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal)Good to have working knowledge and familiarity of DICOM/HL7/HIPAA standards

Qualification: MBBS/MMST/Masters in Bio-medical engineering/ Bachelors or Masters in Medical Imaging Technology with 7-12 yrs related experience

7 to 12 years with good understanding of the clinical domain in the area of MRI/CT and product developmentArea of Experience: Product development/ similar field as a clinical expert

Personal Characteristics:

Quick decision making. A clinical specialist may have to quickly decide on an issue after considering several factors like patient safety, product quality, customer acceptability etc.Successful interaction with several stake holders (both local and international) of a project for effective delivery of job responsibilities.Constantly update medical knowledge to keep abreast of the latest developments in the fieldWork in an agile mode and collaborate well with the team and stakeholdersAbility to get into details and challenges.Ability to work/manage ambiguityPossess High quality standards


How we work together
We believe that we are better together than apart. For our office-based teams, this means working in-person at least 3 days per week.
Onsite roles require full-time presence in the company’s facilities.
Field roles are most effectively done outside of the company’s main facilities, generally at the customers’ or suppliers’ locations.
