Senior Specialist - IT Systems Engineering

We are seeking a talented individual to join our growing IT team at Marsh as a Senior Specialist IT Systems Engineer. This role will be based in Toronto. This is a hybrid role that has a requirement of working at least three days a week in the office.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cloud computing and architecture, with a focus on designing and deploying scalable, secure, and cost-effective cloud-based solutions. You will be involved in implementing innovative technologies to engineer cloud platform services, container orchestration technologies as well as CI/CD automation. We will count on you to:

Design, implement, and maintain highly available, scalable, and secure cloud infrastructure on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI)

Develop and implement cloud migration strategies to move existing on-premises workloads to OCI

Create and maintain documentation related to cloud architecture, including architecture diagrams, process diagrams, and standard operating procedures

Collaborate with development teams to design and implement cloud-native applications

Work with security and compliance teams to ensure that cloud solutions meet industry and regulatory standards

Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure issues

Stay current with OCI services and industry trends to ensure that cloud infrastructure is optimized for cost, performance, and reliability

Mentor and train other IT team members on OCI best practices and cloud architecture

What you need to have:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, OR Work Experience with Certifications

3+ years of experience working in OCI

Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Associate or Professional Certification

Strong understanding of cloud computing concepts and principles, including Infrastructure as Code, DevOps, and serverless computing

Experience with OCI IaaS and PaaS services

Understanding of network technologies, including TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, and VCN

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to work collaboratively with global cross-functional teams

What makes you stand out?

Strong experiencing designing Cloud Solutions within large enterprise environments.

Knowledge and experience working in AWS is a plus.

Coding and DevOps experience:  Python, Infrastructure as Code, GitHub, GitOps, Pipelines
