Senior Speech and Language Pathologist: Center for Autism Services, Science and Innovation- CASSI (Patuxent Woods-Columbia Location)
**Overview** The Speech Language Pathologist IV will provide direct patient care for assessing and treating communication (i.e. speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing disorders: administering department and program functions; supervising speech language pathologists I, II, and III: maintaining documentation relative to services offered: and participating in intra and interdisciplinary training programs.Administrative supervisory responsibilities include ensuring compliance with departmental and organizational policies and procedures, performance appraisals, goals setting, progressive discipline, work/leave schedules and day-to-day workplace interventions and problem resolution. This person is also responsible for at least one specific clinical/research/administrative component within the department. **Responsibilities** 1. Provide functional communication (i.e., speech/language), oral motor, and feeding/swallowing assessment or treatment, with consideration to patients and families’ needs and interest. 2. Supervise graduate students, clinical fellows, and certified Speech Language Pathologists I, II, and III.). 3. Administer one or more departmental and program function (e.g. outpatient program, quality assurance activities), and coordinating and directing other staff participating in that activity. 4. Maintain documentation consistent with Institute and Department expectations for all activities, as well as guidelines by The Joint Commission, CARF and ASHA. 5. Participate in intra-disciplinary and interdisciplinary activities relative to patient care (e.g., team conferences and professional training (e.g., staff development activities). 6. Maintain appropriate professional affiliations for state and national licensure/certification as well as following standards set forth by the Institute and the Program. 7. Participate in departmental activities and outreach activities in the community (e.g., presentations, service on committees). 8. Assist supervisor in setting and implementing goals for professional growth and development. **Qualifications** + Current CPR certification. + Individual must demonstrate competence across all age groups due to the diversity of the children and families served by KKI. + Clinical care focus is on the neonate, pediatric, and adolescent populations, as well as some adults with disabilities. **EDUCATION:** + Masters degree in Speech Language Pathology, with related clinical requirements. + Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech Language Pathology granted by the American Speech Language and Hearing Association. + Eligible for Maryland State Licensure in Speech Language Pathology. **EXPERIENCE:** + Minimum 5 years licensed clinical experience required (including CFY).
