Position Purpose:This is an engineering role that is responsible for enabling cloud transformation and execution for GPC’s unified commerce platforms.
This individual must be a technologist & engineer at heart and be comfortable in enabling new technology and being hands-on with the execution of the strategy. They must exhibit a deep understanding of modern technology stack and agile delivery models, demonstrated focus on customer experience, and must have a proven track record of modernizing technologies.
Close collaboration and alignment with infrastructure teams, application development teams and security will be required. As such, exceptional abilities in building and maintaining strong working relationships and organizational savvy will be required. High-level communication and presentation skills are required. The ability to attract, retain, and develop engineering talent will be critical.
ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain infrastructure as code artifacts and define repeatable patterns for GPC’s cloud environments
Work with cross-functional teams to enable software engineers to iterate quickly and efficiently across our cloud environments by developing a self-service catalog
Work with Engineering to transition applications from one platform to another
Review existing processes and recommend changes or institute new processes as necessary, including observability, operations, engineering and system tuning, etc.
Accountable for production systems uptime and reliability.
Build and deploy new Virtual, Cloud, and/ or physical IT Infrastructure
Administration of Production/Non-Production resources including Linux/Windows VMs.
Ensure all systems and servers are adhering to change control and are audited
Ensure Backups, security, and Cloud Policies are maintained across the organization
Maintain the Governance of resources via Policies, Monitoring setup
Ensure security and network policies are maintained across the org
Work collaboratively with other cloud, security, and network engineers
Requirements4+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure design and engineering
Proficiency in working with cloud platforms (GCP preferred)
Proficiency with production system designs including Infrastructure as Code, High Availability, and Performance Monitoring
Experience in Cloud build methodologies and automation toolsets like Terraform or similar
Infrastructure development automation experience in Python, Go, Ruby, or related languages
Experience in Linux/Unix Systems like (Redhat, IBM AIX).
Experience with Cloud Infrastructure Management.
Experience in building CI/CD toolchain
Experience in infrastructure, network, database, operating systems, or security troubleshooting and remediation.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
Very good written and verbal communication skills in English
