About the Sales Audit Team
The Sales Audit team is responsible for reconciling sales and cash deposits for all domestic and foreign retail entities. This role reports to the Senior Manager, Sales Audit within the accounting organization in Olive Branch, MS.
Overview of the Senior Staff Accountant role
You will be primarily responsible for obtaining sales information from the stores and reconciling cash and credit card activity to cash deposits. Daily interaction with stores is required to identify, document, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner. This role will require close coordination with the internal IT department and loss prevention. Strong communication skills, a collaborative style, and robust analytical and technical capabilities will be required in order to be successful.
Responsibilities
Serve as primary contact for all internal and external business partners for point of sale reconciliation related issues or needs Obtain sales information from the stores on a daily basis. Perform on-line reconciliation of the store sales to the cash deposits Communicate with store associates regarding customer service issues and inquiries Identify and resolve exceptions with retail sales and store deposits and record missing transactions as needed Complete daily Global Retail cash deposit validation Prepare monthly journal entries and reconciliations as assigned Propose solutions to correct monthly reconciliation issues Provide audit support for Sales Audit processesCriteria
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (4 year degree). Minimum 3 years accounting experience required. Experience with ReconNet preferred. Strong technical/systems skills required. Excellent written and verbal communication skills required Strong analytical skills. Project management experience a plus. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Strong PC skills, especially Microsoft Excel. Self-directed, critical thinker able to work independently. Knowledge of large corporate accounting programs. Ability to analyze data and produce reports to assist operations and management.
