Senior Staff Accountant
**Job Description** Holland America Line has been exploring the world since 1873. We’re looking for an amazing Senior Staff Accountant, Fixed Assets Accounting to fill this role. This is a hybrid, in-office role. You’ll work in person at our Seattle Office Tuesday to Thursday each week. You’ll be responsible for communicating with other departments and taking information provided and evaluating the results. The incumbent will also create journal entries to accurately record the financial results for both HAL and SBN. The role will also need to understand accounting concepts and be able to apply those concepts to journal entries and balance sheet reconciliation review process, all while living out the company’s culture essentials. Is this you? **Responsibilities** + Participates in month-end close activities, including journal entry postings, as well as month-end review meetings, ensuring that financials are al in accordance with GAAP and in accordance with lease accounting standards where applicable. + Prepares, and analyses timely reconciliations of balance sheet accounts. + Participates in monthly variance analysis of Actual results to Plan and Forecast in accordance with published timelines and standards. + Process CAR requests timely and in an accurate manner. + Provide meaningful information and analysis on ad-hoc inquiries to meet departmental objectives of financial analysis support. + Continuously work to improve efficiency and effectiveness of related business processes and understand and address inherent compliance/control risks. + Experience with internal controls in a Sarbanes Oxley environment + Engage and communicate with all levels of management and cross functional teams. **Requirements** + Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting, or related field 10+ years of experience in related roles + CPA Preferred + Intermediate to advanced Excel knowledge. + Experience with Oracle or another enterprise level accounting system preferred. + Experience with Blackline preferred. + Strong analytical skills + Capable of effectively prioritizing and managing multiple projects + Candidate must possess the ability to work with minimal supervision and have a take-charge personality. + Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. + Flexibility with regard to peak work times, particularly month end close. **What You Can Expect** + Cruise and Travel Privileges for You and Your Family + Health Benefits + 401(k) + Employee Stock Purchase Plan + Training & Professional Development + Tuition & Professional Certification Reimbursement + Rewards & Incentives + Base Salary Range: $71,200 – 96,100. The range is applicable for the labor market where the role is intended to be hired.
