**Job Summary** Continental Resources is seeking a Senior Staff Exploration Geologist with a proven track record of prospect generation, play fairway analysis and asset development experience in unconventional and conventional reservoirs. This position will be responsible for the generation of new exploration prospects as well as the expansion and development of existing plays. Ability to apply extensive and diversified knowledge of geological principles, advanced techniques, modifications, and extension of theories and precepts and practice of the field and related disciplines. Generates leads and develops them into exploration prospects through interpretation of well logs, scout tickets, and other geological data, also supports the development of discovered fields. Takes responsibility for technical leadership of projects. May act as a team leader (but not administrative supervisor) for work group. Demonstrates full proficiency with the tools utilized to solve problems independently. Leads training and mentoring of less experienced geologists. Works independently. Often provides specialized technical guidance to others within department and business asset. Has experience in coordinating/influencing multiple or high profile projects within business asset area. **Duties and Responsibilities** + Integrate and interpret multiple geologic, petrophysical, and geophysical parameters into a concise geologic model + Utilize surface and subsurface geotechnical data to generate geologic models through log correlation, cross-section construction, stratigraphic analysis, log analysis, and basic to advanced mapping techniques to characterize petroleum systems and hi-graded play fairways + Participate in strategic peer review sessions to present and refine interpretations and technical analysis to deliver technically vetted, high quality exploration prospects + Collaborate with a multi-discipline team of geoscientists, engineers, land and commercial teams to conduct assessments of strategic opportunities and emerging plays to develop a portfolio of investment opportunities + Effectively utilize advanced geotechnical software tools in the interpretation process + Convey technical findings through oral presentations and written reports to both upper management as well as peer review presentations + Mentor less experienced Geoscientists + Work in collaborative multi-disciplined environment incorporating a wide variety of data from various sources to develop a team driven interpretation. + Effectively communicate strategy, recommendations, and execution plans for capital programs regarding project funding, data capture, and testing plans + Be a key contributor and leader in the planning, execution and evaluation of exploration wells, data gathering programs, and integration of industry best practices and latest technology + Other duties as assigned. **Skills and Competencies** + Advanced Production & Well Test Analysis + Advanced Structural Mapping + Advanced Isopach Mapping + Applied Sequence Stratigraphy + Applied depositional model methods and principles + Applied paleogeographic methods and principles + Applied core analysis and integration + Applied Petrophysical Log Analysis + Applied data management and Quality Control + Advanced Geophysical principles + Advanced Geochemical principles + Advanced Geomechanical principles + Advanced Petroleum Engineering principles + Applied Unconventional Reservoir principles + Action oriented - Taking on new opportunities with a sense of urgency and enthusiasm + Collaborates - Build partnerships and work collaboratively with others to meet shared goals + Communicates effectively - Developing and delivering multi-mode communications that convey a clear understanding of the unique needs of different audiences + Financial Acumen - Interpreting and applying understanding of key financial indicators to make better business decisions + Manages complexity - Making sense of complex, high quantity, and sometimes contradictory information to effectively solve problems. + Organizational savvy - Maneuvering comfortably through complex policy, process, and people-related organizational dynamics **Required Qualifications** + Bachelor of Science in Geoscience or Earth Sciences from an accredited university or college + Minimum of ten (10) years of recent experience with an active exploration and production company + An acceptable pre-employment background and drug test. **Preferred Qualifications** + Master’s Degree in Geoscience or Earth Sciences from an accredited university or college **Physical Requirements and Working Conditions** + Requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stooping. + Occasional lifting up to 25 pounds. + Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a computer keyboard and calculator.
