Role Summary The Future Programs team exists to expand the definition of Electric Adventure Vehicle with new product and ecosystem solutions. We are specifically focused on addressing local transportation and the outside impact towards Keeping the World Adventurous Forever that comes with disrupting short, high emission trips. Responsibilities Collaborate with the Design Studio to find both technical solutions that achieve their vision and to provide input on how the overall design of the product could be improved. Translate user product research into design solutions that address the target customer’s needs. Develop structural Class A frame parts, cosmetic close out panels, suspension components, and sealed housings for PCBA’s. Collaborate with cross functional teams and find solutions to package their components. Develop engineering solutions that meet requirements for vehicle Safety, Durability, and NVH. Create, document, and sign off on engineering release drawings and 3D files. Manage program specific timing, DFMEA and DVP action items. Meet cost, weight, and reliability targets for the parts and assemblies you are responsible for. Work closely with manufacturing to deliver a design that can be produced in a stable manner. Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering with a minimum of eight years of related experience. Proven success working through a full product lifecycle from initial design through to launch. Experience trouble shooting field failures and implementing production improvements. Experience designing injection molded, cast, and forged parts. Experience designing IP rated enclosures. Ability to use hand tools to build and modify prototype parts. Advanced 3D CAD modelling skills using Catia, Solidworks, or Creo (Catia V6 is preferred).
