Exciting opportunity to be a Product Development Program Manager for a variety of Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) projects within Illumina’s cutting-edge Multiomics portfolio.  The Senior Staff Program Manager will execute development and partnership projects varying in size and complexity from Concept through Commercialization following lllumina’s PDP Phase Gate process as well as develop budgets/timelines for potential new projects.  The PM will interface with internal and external partners to achieve project goals, milestones, and timelines.  In addition to the criteria below, the ideal candidate must be a skilled team leader with strong negotiation and influencing skills, be able to work independently, handle multiple tasks in parallel, and communicate effectively with all levels of the organization. Responsibilities

Provides management and leadership skills to drive execution on project goals while ensuring adherence to internal business and quality system standardsCollaborate cross-functionally to create, maintain, execute, and communicate overall project plans (scope, schedule, staffing plans, quality, risk management, budget, and procurement) and revise them appropriately to meet changing project needs and requirementsIdentify needs for changes to plan and communicate them to the team and stakeholders to ensure program goals are in alignment with business objectivesSchedule and lead phase gate reviews with an executive approval committeeIdentify and resolve or escalate program issues, facilitate tradeoff decisions, and remove obstaclesContinuously analyze and manage risks to enable successful project completionDefine and optimize project management and development processes, methodologies, and tools to improve organizational efficiency and effectivenessApply best practices and knowledge of internal/external business challenges to improve productsContribute to product development process or PMO function improvement initiatives

Experience\Knowledge Requirements

Familiar with FDA regulated product development processes and design controlsExpert at project scheduling using MS Project, including dependencies and critical path determination and optimizationAble to develop project/program budget/timeline/scope de novo, develop plans and communicate proposals to leadershipExpert at project/program resource management, resource scheduling, and budgetsAbility to identify key issues, motivate and empower others to address them in a way which builds morale, generates ownership and commitmentFamiliarity with key business drivers and considerations in the biotech and/or life science industries and recommends best practices to improve products, processes, or servicesFamiliar with most topics in the PM Body of Knowledge (PMBOK)Familiar with molecular assay development, genetic sequencing principles or sequencing devices, or complex electromechanical systems

 Education Requirements

Typically requires a minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years of experience; or equivalent experience. Typically requires a current PMP certification

The estimated base salary range for the Senior Staff Program Manager (Multiomics) role based in the United States of America is: $152,600 - $228,800. Should the level or location of the role change during the hiring process, the applicable base pay range may be updated accordingly. Compensation decisions are dependent on several factors including, but not limited to, an individual’s qualifications, location where the role is to be performed, internal equity, and alignment with market data. Additionally, all employees are eligible for one of our variable cash programs (bonus or commission) and eligible roles may receive equity as part of the compensation package.
