Make your impact within a rapidly growing Fintech Company

The Sync team is responsible for building, maintaining, enhancing, and scaling two-way integration solutions between the BILL payment platform/network and major accounting software products used by its customers. Used by nearly 90% of our paying Small Business customers, sync is a core feature that allows our customers to keep their bills, payments and other data up to date in their accounting systems. 

As a Senior Staff Engineer on the sync team, you will be responsible for:

Designing new sync integrations Executing complex data migrations Working cross functionally to integrate sync products with diverse systems Improving system reliability and observability Promoting a culture of quality  Mentoring junior engineers

We’d love to chat if you have:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field Minimum 12  years of relevant experience in software engineering, including building enterprise platforms Expertise in building and maintaining large-scale, high-volume, high-availability, low-latency systems Expert-level knowledge of Java, SQL and NoSQL databases along with full-stack development Ability to mentor and guide other engineers in best practices and advanced technical concepts Proficiency in version control, code reviews, testing, and deployment automation Proficiency with monitoring, alerting, and reporting tools Cross-team collaboration with extreme ownership mindset Exceptional problem solving, critical thinking, communication skills, and a bias towards action Customer empathy Strong understanding of engineering, product, and design interoperation and communication

Nice to Have:

Expertise with using AWS services to build microservices Familiar with frontend development with React and Angular Experience with tools like Splunk, Datadog, Mixpanel, LaunchDarkly etc. Accounting domain knowledge (knows the basics of double-entry accounting, General Ledger, AP/AR) Knowledge and experience in one of - accounting OR ERP OR FinTech (back-end, e.g., Payments)  Familiarity with using Generative AI in production applications with RAG

Our ranges for each role and job level are based on a variety of factors including candidate experience, expertise, and geographic location and may vary from the amounts listed below. The role is also eligible for a competitive benefits package that includes: medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, 401(k) retirement plan, flexible spending & health savings account, paid holidays, paid time off, and other company benefits. The estimated salary  ranges noted below roles in the specific  geographic zones

Zone 1- San Francisco Bay Area CA (includes HQ), New York City, Seattle$197,200—$246,500 USDZone 2- CA (Non San Francisco Bay Area), Austin TX, Massachusetts$177,500—$221,900 USDZone 3 -Utah (includes Utah office), Houston TX (office), Florida, North Carolina$167,600—$209,500 USD
