Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Senior Staff Tax Accountant to join its collaborative team in Parsippany, NJ. This individual will serve a key function in providing support for all tax, business and professional licensing compliance on a firm-wide basis, including coordination of income tax return preparation with independent public accountants and preparation and filing of all other returns and license applications.
Job Responsibilities
+ Assist with the filing of all State and Local excise / franchise / business tax returns and US census filings, maintaining documentation of completed tax forms and related documents for reporting and auditing purposes. Respond to communication from regulatory agencies;
+ Assist with the coordination of annual State and Federal income tax returns including K-1’s with the Independent Public Accountants;
+ Support Payroll, Sales and Use and Property tax compliance;
+ Assist with the annual R&D tax credit identification and coordination;
+ Compilation and filing of annual tax residency certificates;
+ Perform tax research and remain current on federal, state and local tax and compliance laws;
+ Assist with maintaining Business and Professional registrations in all states and municipalities;
+ Assist with the compilation of the annual overhead audit and support of the year-end financial audit;
+ Support the annual insurance renewals and requests from project managers for Certificates of Insurance;
+ Perform account reconciliations as assigned; and
+ Perform other duties and special projects as requested.
Qualifications
+ Bachelor’s degree in Accounting. CPA and/or MBA a plus;
+ 2+ years of experience in accounting;
+ Understanding of compliance accounting procedures;
+ Excellent organizational and time management skills;
+ Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook; Internet research; Adobe Professional;
+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
+ Strong attention to detail and accuracy with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
+ Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.
