YOUR IMPACT

The OpenText Lead Storage Engineer (Backup) will assist with general maintenance and upkeep of our global Data Protection environment. Included in this; deploying backup changes, working with vendors, building and maintaining backup infrastructure, ensuring performance specifications are met, and other duties as directed. This person will participate in an on-call rotation to handle production-impacting issues.

The Lead Storage Engineer (Backup) will report to the Manager of Data Protection Services focusing on commercial business.

You are great at supporting the operations organization by employing systematic efforts that translate operational backup needs into configuration specifications that provide a robust, stable, and maintainable production backup processing environment that meets or exceeds all business requirements.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

B.S. in computer science/information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience6-10 years of relevant experienceAdvanced Configuration familiarity with major storage players including Dell/EMC, VAST, Flash Storage, etc.3-5 Years’ Experience with Backup Products - Veritas NetBackup, Data Protector, Veeam3-5 years experience with installing and maintaining Servers – Red Hat Linux, WindowsBackup allocation, upgrades, and optimization standardsBackup Performance TuningProactive monitoring and tools implementationFamiliarity with VMWare is an asset
