In the role of Senior Stormwater Engineer, we'll count on you to: Provide project and task management; collect, assimilate, and present data in reports, memos, and public forums; lead engineers charged with production of design calculations and technical reports; and preparing engineering plans and specifications for design of detention facilities, storm drains, flood control facilities and other hydraulic structuresWork independently in addition to planning, organizing, and supervising the work of medium to large teams of professionals and technicians dependent on project/taskUnderstand the principles, practices, and methods of public works design and construction of stormwater management systemsUnderstand stormwater regulatory requirements and standards such as the Ecology Stormwater Management Manual and how to implement local design requirementsDesign green stormwater infrastructure and other stormwater best management practicesProblem solve by identifying multiple solutions and work with a team to select preferred approachesInterpret and explain technical information to a variety of audiences in a technical or non-technical manner, as appropriateSupport development of less experienced engineers to build stronger teams.Serve as project manager on larger projects as neededPrepare proposal, scopes of work and contract cost estimatesPerform other duties as neededPreferred Qualifications MSCEStormwater industry certifications like APWA CSM, CESCLKnowledge and experience with Washington state stormwater codes, manuals, and programs.

Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent fieldA minimum of 10 years Water Resources experience Professional Engineer (PE) license HEC-1, HEC-RAS, GEO-RAS, Storm CAD, Haested Methods Experience in water resources planning, hydrology/hydraulics and drainage/flood control design Familiarity with DOT drainage design criteria Experience in FEMA studies a plus Excellent writing and communication skills Ability to work independently and as part of a project team An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must

The expected compensation range for this position depends upon skills, experience, education and geographical location. (Stated benefits are for full-time regular positions. Bellevue/Everett/Seattle: $136,836 - $195,480, Gig Harbor: $125,433 - $179,190, Olympia: $114,030 - $162,900, Spokane: $108,329 - $154,755
