Senior Strategic Sourcing Manager

About the teamThe Strategic Sourcing team is a key component of our larger Procurement and Finance Services (PFS) team at Zillow Group (ZG). The Strategic Sourcing Team enables Zillow Group, business and technology teams to run efficiently and scale. About the role

You will serve as a trusted advisor to the multiple business lines including but not limited to Zillow Home Loans, Spruce, Legal and Compliance. This role will drive critical elements of the supplier relationship lifecycle including planning, sourcing and negotiation support for complex deals, owning supplier relationship management for the most strategic suppliers, and benchmarking deals with available market intelligence. You will be a subject matter authority on our sourcing projects, processes, spend, purchasing, and planning!

Responsibilities may include:Lead sourcing events (complex and commodity), i.e. RFx’s, lead negotiations, facilitate contracting, and manage supplier relationships across your book of business etc.Publish a 12-month deal calendar and review timelines, planning, and strategy with essential team members, budget owners, Product, FP+A, and Legal.Research and identify savings and supplier optimization opportunities within Zillow’s current and future service needsBe a key point for Sourcing and PFS on M+A workstreams, supporting integration and onboarding of key SuppliersDrive monthly/quarterly Stakeholder Business reviewsLead key Sourcing optimization projects and initiatives with a focus on Sourcing Process ExcellenceRun or collaborate on key reports for the team including spend, savings, key projects, and near-term/longer range priorities, diversity, sustainability, etc.Excel in data-driven communications and recommendations, both internally and with suppliersDevelop and implement standard supplier agreements and relevant amendments, supplier management standard methodologies, and sourcing practices - i.e. use “ZG paper” as much as possibleCollaborate with our Supplier Management team on Supplier Business Reviews, Scorecards, Supplier Qualification, and OnboardingLead cross-functional projects and process improvements across multiple partner teams and internally within Sourcing and PFSFind opportunities to rationalize suppliers and program strategies that deliver effective supplier use while considering risk, overall supplier mix and opportunities to invest in innovative or diverse supplier capabilitiesMay include mentoring junior team members with difficult deals and standard methodologiesMay support business adoption of supplier performance managementYou Will Get To: Drive contract negotiations and engage appropriate team members, including Legal, Business Leadership, Strategic Sourcing, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Workforce Management, Procure to Pay and Strategic Operations, to propel successful partnerships and operational efficiency.Apply data analysis and comprehensive anecdotal feedback to evaluate the impact of new models on suppliers, customers, and Zillow Group.Establish credibility and rapport with business partners and senior leaders to navigate the intricacies of business operations and processes effectively.Lead the vision, strategy, and outcomes of Supplier engagement initiatives to champion business expansion and achieve defined results outlined in Statement of Work (SOW) agreements.

This role has been categorized as a Remote position. “Remote” employees do not have a permanent corporate office workplace and, instead, work from a physical location of their choice, which must be identified to the Company. U.S. employees may live in any of the 50 United States, with limited exceptions.

In California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC the standard base pay range for this role is $105,900.00 - $169,100.00 Annually. This base pay range is specific to California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, Washington state, and Washington DC and may not be applicable to other locations.

In addition to a competitive base salary this position is also eligible for equity awards based on factors such as experience, performance and location. Actual amounts will vary depending on experience, performance and location.

Who you areDrive contract negotiations and engage appropriate team members, including Legal, Business Leadership, Strategic Sourcing, Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A), Workforce Management, Procure to Pay and Strategic Operations, to propel successful partnerships and operational efficiency.Apply data analysis and comprehensive anecdotal feedback to evaluate the impact of new models on suppliers, customers, and Zillow Group.Establish credibility and rapport with business partners and senior leaders to navigate the intricacies of business operations and processes effectively.Lead the vision, strategy, and outcomes of Supplier engagement initiatives to champion business expansion and achieve defined results outlined in Statement of Work (SOW) agreements.Who You AreHold a Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience, with an MBA or Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or Finance being highly desirable, aligning with the educational requirements for the position.Possess 5-10 years of consistently supporting complex high value deals with technology and services suppliers, sourcing events, handling suppliers and the respective budgets with FP+A, and leading projects, preferably within large tech organizations. Mortgage and closing services category management experience is a plusStrong negotiation skills with both tactical and Strategic Suppliers, with the ability to adapt and improvise through ambiguityShowcase a track record of successfully navigating complex strategic agreements and Statements of WorkSkilled in foreseeing and manage trade-offs, adeptly balancing business requirements while fostering operational excellence.Showcase outstanding capabilities in time management, organization, and prioritization, ensuring efficient task execution.Display a strong sense of ownership and a drive for achieving results, highlighting your dedication to success and an interest in continuous improvement.Experience in organizational change management best practices.Familiarity with process mapping, process enhancement, and problem-solving, applying statistical and data-centric methodologies such as Six Sigma, Lean, Kaizen, Design Thinking, and Agile, reinforcing proficiency in process optimization.Strong analytical skills to help drive data based decisioning and reportingAbility to identify risks and connect the dots across multiple functions including finance, legal, contracts management and a wide variety of technology teamsAbility to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced environment without losing focus on the detailsMaintain a bias for action and courage when solving problemsReceived formal training in Data Analytics, Spend Analytics,, and Advanced Excel Skills.
