Senior Strategy Manager, Transportation Industry

Position Overview

Autodesk is looking for an Industry Strategy Manager that can take the transportation industry beyond traditional design and help it transform through digital delivery and BIM. You will serve as a key member of the AEC Design (Industry Strategy) Group responsible for establishing long-term Industry Strategy & Vision; developing and validating opportunities to establish Autodesk’s foundation for future growth, creating strategies for bringing new and transformational technologies into industry workflows as well as driving business development activities including partnership and M&A strategy. You will work remotely and report to the Director, Infrastructure Industry & Business Strategy

You will shape and lead business strategy and transformation engagements. You will be a leader in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, cross-functional, and global business environment. You will use your industry, business, and analytical skills to develop go-to- market strategies in digital delivery and BIM for transportation. You will partner and influence stakeholders across Autodesk, including product development, marketing, and sales to determine the most effective strategies and actions to drive awareness, preference, and demand for Autodesk’s design solutions in transportation.

You must be enthusiastic, self-motivated, and an excellent communicator, with experience leading and working within cross functional teams, developing business plans, and delivering dynamic presentations to large groups. The candidate will be able to represent the Division in customer engagements including presenting vision and plans, communicating high-level capabilities and position, validating plans, influencing customers, and gathering customer business issues.

Responsibilities

Leads and develops Autodesk’s transportation industry strategy

Creates compelling business plans to identify new market opportunities and investments

Develops go-to-market strategies to achieve business growth goals

Gathers and prioritizes market requirements to influence product roadmaps, and ensure Autodesk can effectively compete in target markets

Collects and analyzes competitive market activity and dynamics

Develops and manages strategic industry partnerships

Develops and communicates inspirational, and differentiated stories for transportation to be shared with customers, press, industry analysts, partners, and the internal Autodesk community

Presents at customer executive briefings and key industry events Autodesk’s BIM and digital delivery vision and strategy

Represents Autodesk in key transportation industry working groups and committees

Collaborates with Autodesk sales, finance and operations teams on go-to-market strategies

Develops strong partnerships with product development teams to influence product requirements and prioritization to meet the needs of transportation design customers

Serves as key point of contact for product and sales teams, throughout strategic planning and go-to-market execution

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s or Masters Degree in Civil Engineering. MBA a plus

Experience and solid understanding of the US DOT marketplace

At least 10 years of civil engineering design and/or project management experience on large transportation projects

At least 2 years in roles requiring business development and/or strategy deliverables

Ability to travel approximately 25%

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $148,200 and $239,800. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
