Senior Structural Engineer
Job Summary of Roles and Responsibilities
POWER Engineers, Member of WSP is seeking a highly-capable, experienced structural engineer with significant experience in the power industry to assist our Civil-Structural-Architectural team. This position will be a part-time position only. The qualified candidate will have experience with design, procurement, and construction procedures from planning through execution as well as familiarity with common electric distribution projects. The position will require the individual to evaluate potential sites, provide feasibility studies, and economic analysis of energy projects. The candidate will be expected to communicate directly with the client and therefore they must have a strong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skills. Minimal travel should be expected.
Required Education/Experience
Fifteen (15) + years of experience in the power industryFamiliarity with basic project management skills to include: scheduling, sequencing, budgeting and coordinating multiple stakeholdersStrong command of the English language and possess good written and oral communications skillsAbility to develop strong client relationship, write proposals and manage projects from a technical and administrative perspectiveAbility to coordinate technical issues with internal and external engineers, designers, drafters, and customer representativesMust be able to successfully pass client's background screening processMust have a valid driver's license with an acceptable driving recordDesired Education/Experience
Masters of Science in Civil or Structural Engineering or similar degree from an ABET-accredited universityTwenty (20) + years of experience in power industryPrior design experience with static and dynamic analysis of large scale machine foundationsPrior project management experience with energy industry projectsRegistered Professional Engineer
