Primary Responsibilities

The position opening for a Senior Structural Engineer offers exciting opportunities in the field of Power Generation and Renewables.
As an HDR Senior Structural Engineer your responsibilities may include:
Performingdetailed structural design, analysis, engineering calculations,and developing construction documents for a variety of reinforced concrete, reinforced masonry, and steel structures as well as a variety of foundation systems like piles, spread footings, and mat foundations.Projects will include new and retrofit power and energy projects (i.e. wind, solar, battery storage, and non-renewable power generation), in addition to industrial, institutional facilities, and a variety of other project types.Acting as an Owner’s Engineer for new or retrofit projects.Writing/Editing structural specifications.Verifying code compliance, quality checks, meeting project schedules and budget.Working independently on projects and overseeing the work of junior engineers.Using stiffness matrix-based analysis software (i.e. RISA, STAAD, and LPile), hand calculations, as well as current codes and standards to perform both static and dynamic analysis.Participating in project site visits in conjunction with the Project Manager and other disciplines.All other duties as assigned.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Architectural Engineering, Structural emphasisRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Civil or Structural EngineeringA minimum of 10 years structural engineering experience as it relates to building designProfessional Engineer (PE) licenseMicrosoft Office, AutoCAD, RAM, ETABS, SAFE or similar analytical softwareExperience in design calculations and layoutsAbility to design and detail in steel, concrete, masonry and woodRequires understanding of gravity analysis and lateral analysisPrevious experience with an architectural/engineering or engineering consulting firmAn attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
