As an employee-owned company, through the Employee Stock Ownership Plan, Schnabel employees directly benefit from the success of our growing firm. **Benefit options include:** + Medical insurance + Dental insurance + Flexible spending accounts + Employee life & ADD insurance (100% company-paid) + Short-term disability (100% company-paid) + Long-term disability + Supplemental life insurance + 401(k) and profit-sharing plan + Employee stock ownership plan (ESOP) + Bonus program + Paid time off + 9 Paid Holidays + Wellness program + Professional development and tuition reimbursement **Job Description:** Schnabel Engineering is seeking a Senior level Civil/Structural Dam Engineer with experience in structural analysis and design of steel and concrete structures, enthusiasm for problem solving, attention to details, appreciation of teamwork, and responsibility to project commitments to join our growing practice in Portland, Oregon. **Job Responsibilities:** + Perform/review analysis and design of steel and concrete structures + Prepare/review design drawings, reports, and technical specifications + Serve as a subject matter expert in the assessment of dams + Maintain project communication with coworkers and clients + Responsible for project progress and task completion + Perform inspections of dams and hydraulic structures + Provide construction site observation and engineering services **Required Skills/Experience:** + BS in Civil/Structural Engineering + A licensed Civil/Structural Engineer + Experience in dams or hydraulic structures + Analysis and design of steel and concrete structures + Responsible for completion of calculations, drawings, reports, etc. + Proficiency in computer-aided structural analysis, i.e. STAAD, SAP, ETAB, etc. + Proficiency with Excel and/or Mathcad as engineering calculation tools + Competent with ASCE, AISC, and ACI codes + Knowledge/understanding of FERC, USACE, USBR, FEMA, etc. guidelines/regulations + Excellent oral and written communication skills with coworkers and clients + Willingness to perform site visits and travel as required by projects + Ability to negotiate at construction sites and practice site safety **Preferred Qualifications:** + MS or PhD Degree in Civil/Structural Engineering + 15+ years of engineering design experience in steel and concrete structures + FERC approved Independent Consultant or Subject Matter Expert + Prior construction support or field engineer experience + Proficiency in computer-aided structural finite element analysis, i.e. Ansys, LSDyna, etc. + Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D, Revit, and or Bluebeam **Other Requirements:** + Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check + Ability to pass a pre-employment screening The compensation range for an Associate level Engineer is between $100,300 to $160,700. The compensation range for a Senior Associate level Engineer is between $115,850 to $200,000. Compensation for this position may vary based on geographic location and other factors.
