Must be eligible to work in the United States on a full-time basis for any employer. This position is scheduled to end on August 31, 2027, with continuation in successive years possible beyond August 31, 2027 depending on funding, workload, and job performance.

Purpose

The STARS Network Program Coordinator supports the team through coverage of recruitment in designated rural counties through application workshops, high school visits, college fairs, and other designated events. This position is grant-funded by an entity external to the university and therefore contingent on continued support throughout the duration of the appointment.

Responsibilities

Outreach Activities and Planning:

Participate in STARS network planning meetings.Plan and organize all STARS Network specific recruitment eventsAssist the Center Director in budget tracking, purchasing, and monitoring performance metricsRepresent the university at multiple regional recruitment events, panels, and meetings throughout the state of Texas, including some trips to Austin, TX.Cultivate relationships with rural high school and community college counseling staff.Provide personalized outreach to rural prospective students and families.Oversee the STARS Network Ambassador program, including recruiting, retaining, and a plan of action for all ambassadors

Assessment and Reporting:

Assist in evaluating program performance and providing feedback to ensure continuous improvement.Assist in the assessment activities for recruitment efforts in assigned territories.Collect, review, and report on territory, program, event, prospect, and service metrics.Provide synthesized assessments to senior staff and other stakeholders.

Vehicle operation and maintenance:​​

Extended and ongoing travel to recruitment activities using a university vehicle.Fulfill administrative needs.Research and plan for routes.Ensure that the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use.Arrange for vehicle repairs as needed.Keep mileage records and repair records up-to-date.

File Review, Evaluation, and Application Support:

Assist in the evaluation of applicants for admission.Support the file review activities of the Recruitment team to ensure timely and accurate processing. Respond to student and parent application and enrollment inquiries.

Required QualificationsBachelor’s degree in a related field.2-3 years of experience in university admissions or recruitment.Valid Drivers Texas Driver’s License.Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills.Proficiency in using CRM systems and data analysis tools.Ability to travel for weeks at a time and represent the university at various events.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred QualificationsBilingual in English and Spanish.Commercial Driver’s License.Knowledge of and sensitivity to issues surrounding rural communities.

Driving Required

This job requires a class "C" operator's driver's license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver's license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident. Employees who are required to have a CDL are subject to drug and alcohol testing (pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, random, return-to-duty, and follow-up drug and alcohol testing).

Salary Range

$55,000

Working ConditionsOffice environment with regular travel to recruitment events.Use of personal, rental, or university vehicles for travel.

Employment Eligibility:
