Senior Substation Electrical EngineerJob Summary

POWER Engineers is currently seeking a senior level Electrical Engineer with substantial experience in substation design (or equivalent) to support the Power Delivery Substation Department in our St. Louis, Missouri office. There are opportunities for remote, hybrid, or in-office working conditions. Employee is required to live within driving distance of the office.

ResponsibilitiesPerform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substationsOne-line diagrams, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project schedulingPerform QA/QC for substation project deliverables to clients across multiple officesEnsure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal mannerMentor less experienced staff in substation project executionOccasional travel will be requiredRequired Education/ExperienceAbility to function as a Senior Substation Electrical Engineer in the St. Louis location of our Substation Business UnitBSEE (BS Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS Electrical Engineering Technology) degree from an accredited universityExperience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standardsExperience in managing 5 or more people on a project teamExperience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrentlyThe candidate must have strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnelCandidates must be legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorshipDesired Education/ExperienceTen or more years experience in utility substation designProfessional Engineering license (PE)Experience with - and established positive relationships with - Central region clientsExperience in 345kV through 750kV substation design
