**Senior Substation Project Engineer** Location **San Antonio** Job Code **17523** \# of openings **1** Apply Now (https://phh.tbe.taleo.net/phh04/ats/careers/v2/applyRequisition?org=POWERENGINEERS&cws=44&rid=17523) **Senior Substation Project Engineer** **Job Summary** POWER Engineers is seeking a senior-level Electrical Engineer to work in the Power Delivery Substation Department of our San Antonio, Texas office. Flexibility is available for a hybrid work environment (employee will need to live within commutable distance of the office). **Responsibilities** + Grow and manage relationships with local clients + Mentor less experienced staff in substation project execution + Perform and direct others in the detailed design of medium to extra high voltage utility substations including one-line diagrams, three line diagrams, AC/DC schematics, elementary and wiring diagrams, SCADA, communications, conduit and cable sizing/routing, substation physical layouts, selection of substation equipment, writing of substation equipment specifications, proposal development, construction cost estimates, and project scheduling + Ensure POWER quality procedures are followed and that the team is resourced in an optimal manner + Perform QA/QC for deliverables to clients across multiple offices + Manage all schedule, budget, and quality of assigned projects. **Required Education/Experience** + Ability to function as a Senior Substation Project Engineer in San Antonio office of our Substation Business Unit + BSEE (BS in Electrical Engineering) or BSEET (BS in Electrical Engineering Technology) degree, from an accredited university preferably with a power option + Professional Engineering license (PE) or ability to obtain within one year + Experience in 15kV through 345kV physical and electrical substation design, and IEEE/ANSI standards + Experience in managing five or more people on a project team.Experience filling the role of project engineer for several projects occurring concurrently + Strong command of the English language with good written and oral communication skills in order to work effectively with internal team members and external client personnel + Legally authorized to work permanently in the U.S. without the need for work sponsorship **Desired Education/Experience** + Ten or more years experience in utility substation design is preferred + Experience with and established positive relationships with local clients + Experience in 345kV through 500 kV substation design.
