Summary:  

 

The Senior HACCP Supervisor will serve as the main SQF practitioner in the facility and as the HACCP program coordinator. They will develop and maintain compliance with plant programs such as HACCP, SSOP, process control, and CN. This position directs, administers and works with all levels of plant personnel This role will assist in the supervision of the staff of quality technicians. Serves as a technical resource on cross-functional plant teams. Conducts tests and collaborates on projects and process improvement work. As directed, investigate customer complaints, and assist in product trace activities through utilization of SAP. Maintain technical competency in plant computer programs and quality related systems. Investigate and resolve holds, customer complaints and foreign material incidents. Innovate to improve the effectiveness of the quality system to better serve the business.  

 

Responsibilities:   

 

Ensure food safety and personal safety of people in our plant.   Monitor production conditions, specifications, process controls and tracking controls.  Oversee and ensure that plant personnel follow written procedures for HARPC, HACCP, SSOP and Prerequisite programs.Develop, implement, and review documentation and/or procedures related to food safety programs.Develop and train quality technicians to complete and monitor the HACCP documentation either in Safety Chain or on paper when required.   Develop corrective actions to FSQA related issues whenever necessary; assist in determining the root cause and develop preventative actions.   Understand and maintain compliance with net weight programs.   Develop and monitor finished product evaluations as determined by customer or in-house requirements.   Verify sanitation pre-operational inspections and advise the sanitation management of any deficiencies.   Monitor all quality-related procedures and create or update procedures as necessary.   Participate in weekly management meetings pertinent to areas of responsibility in FSQA.   Assist the other quality management team members when needed. Coordinate the timely completion of SQF requirements. Work closely with the USDA in maintaining compliance with federal regulations for labeling, sanitation, and operating procedures.   Work closely with Production, Customer Relations, Sales, and Warehousing to achieve company goals for quality productivity and yields.   Maintain awareness of regulatory changes and advances in the state of the industry. Champion improvement projects and complete special assignments as directed.   Aid in establishing a food safety culture across all personnel within the facility.  Give daily feedback to the leadership team concerning HARPC and HACCP programs . Coordinate micro corrective actions with appropriate operational and sanitation team members.   Respond to foreign material and food safety concerns.Conduct HACCP record review and pre-shipment as needed.   Review holds, investigate, and provide dispositions.   Report on held product.   Review microbiological performance of facility developing action plans for tactical and strategic improvement.   Conduct food safety meetings and provide input during USDA meetings. Lead in Food Safety team.   Perform assign or validate SQF-related tasks on schedule.   Assist in the administration of the FSQA dept. to include overseeing QA technicians and appropriate QA compliance in conjunction with the QA Manager. Report on held product.   Other weekly and daily functions as assigned.   

 

Requirements:  

 

Education: High School Diploma Required, College Degree in Science preferred.  Experience: 3-5 years in a related food manufacturing environment with a proven record of leading teams. HACCP certified, SQF/BRC accredited. Preferred 2 years of HACCP experience. Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.  Computer Skills: Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook proficiency. Ability to learn SAP and Plant View quickly.  Special Skills: Strong problem-solving skills with understanding of Root Cause Analysis.Must reside in the United States. Any listed amounts represent the base pay range. Additional compensation may be available for this position based on various factors such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonuses. Pay is just one part of Tyson’s total compensation package.
