The Quality Assurance team analyzes and implements quality standards for components, materials or services. Applies measures, sampling methods, testing methodology and other procedures to ensure that quality standards are met. Prepares reports and recommends improvements. Collaborates with suppliers and ensures effective corrective actions are implemented when needed and contributes to supplier quality improvement programs
This role in summaryThe Sr Supplier Quality Engineer position will manage the performance of purchased part suppliers at the Cleveland TN manufacturing location. This position is responsible for the containment and corrective action process and driving projects to improve supplier KPIs and reduce negative impact to plant operations.
Your responsibilities will include Responsible for the performance of purchased parts within the assembly processManage the corrective action process for non conforming purchased componentsDrive containment activities to reduce negative impact to plant operations and assembly processesResponsible for supplier key performance metrics (PPM and material charge back)Responsible for initiating projects to reduce supplier related customer claimsInitiate continuous improvement activities for purchased parts.Manage PPAP approvals for projects in Cleveland manufacturingParticipate in plant WCM QC Pillar activities and initiatives as a memberMinimum requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering5+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment
Preferred skills and experiences Critical thinking with problem solving approach using Six Sigma toolsAchievement oriented with the ability to work independently and self driveAbility to communicate and interact with all levels of the organization as well as cross-functionally and outside the company.System proficiency: SAP, Excel, Word, Powerpoint and ability to learn new systems for PPAP processing and 8D documentation.Willingness to travel occasionally to suppliers for deep dive into potential root cause analysis.
