Senior Supplier Quality Engineer - Aviation

**EchoStar** has an exciting opportunity for a **Sr. Supplier Quality Engineer - Aviation** in our **Hughes Network Systems** division located in **Germantown, MD** . Hughes is a leading provider of satellite and managed network services, utilizing innovative network technologies and solutions to serve mobility, enterprises, and governments globally. This on-site Aviation Quality position requires developing and administering Hughes standards to meet and exceed the requirements of AS9100D.
**Responsibilities:**
+ Ensure aviation suppliers comply with the related requirements and specifications for ISO9001/AS9100D
+ Track failures thru supplier 8D analysis process and to help support MTBF calculations.
+ Ensure accurate tracking and closure of product nonconformance.
+ Ensure adequate RCCA are implemented.
+ Coordinate with suppliers during production processes to ensure quality products.
+ Ensure CofCs, FAIs and supplier test records are compliant as it relates to aviation components
**Basic Qualifications:**
+ Prior experience with AS9102C – to include First Article Inspection processes as it pertains to Hughes suppliers and internal customers.
+ 5+ years of experience working with AS9100D Aerospace Standards.
+ Prior experience with regard to FAA certification processes for Parts 21 and 145 approvals.
**Preferred Qualifications:**
+ Strong communication skills, be detailed-oriented and have commitment to quality.
+ Familiarity with standard incoming inspection and MRB/QMS processes.
+ 100% on site presence required.
+ Familiarity with Aerospace manufacturing and production.
+ Familiarity with 3rd party software packages (Net-Inspect, QT9qms and SiliconExpert).
+ Working knowledge of ERP/SAP and QMS systems.
Will be eligible for discretionary bonus, with funding based on company performance.
The base pay range shown is a guideline. Individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level and competencies. Candidates need to successfully complete a pre-employment screen, which may include a drug test and DMV check.
