Senior Supply Chain Manager

Caterpillar is seeking a Senior Supply Chain Manager in Peoria, IL. In this role, you will lead a team that oversees the end-to-end Earthmoving value chain design and execution to ensure optimized availability of necessary components to support manufacturing and machines for distribution. Develop, implement, and manage end-to-end supply chain strategies and solutions. **What you can look forward to in this role:** + Maintaining relationships with Product Group business partners, understanding their strategy, and driving communications with operations, procurement, logistics, and distribution to optimize the end-to-end network. Creating integrated processes to streamline supply chains. + Interacting with product group, engineering, and facilities management on production schedules and expected deliverables. + Managing and directing projects with business partners in areas of product configuration rationalization, supplier performance, factory logistics, and outbound distribution. + Establishing key performance metrics and benchmarks to guide supply chain planning and forecasting; monitoring planned vs. actual performance and presents results to senior leadership. **A successful candidate in this role will showcase their skills in:** **Analytical Thinking:** Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems. + Approaches a situation or problem by defining the problem or issue and determining its significance. + Makes a systematic comparison of two or more alternative solutions. + Uses flow charts, Pareto charts, fish diagrams, etc. to disclose meaningful data patterns. + Identifies the major forces, events and people impacting and impacted by the situation at hand. + Uses logic and intuition to make inferences about the meaning of the data and arrive at conclusions. **Decision Making and Critical Thinking:** Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment. + Applies an assigned technique for critical thinking in a decision-making process. + Identifies, obtains, and organizes relevant data and ideas. + Participates in documenting data, ideas, players, stakeholders, and processes. + Recognizes, clarifies, and prioritizes concerns. + Assists in assessing risks, benefits and consideration of alternatives. **Strategic Thinking:** Knowledge of the importance of "big picture" thinking and planning; ability to apply organizational acumen and competitiveness to identify and maintain focus on key success factors for the organization. + Implements the group's go-to-market strategy. + Raises awareness of potential strategic alliances and partnerships. + Explains elements of the strategy to others and encourages questions. + Monitors marketplace trends, opportunities, and vulnerabilities; reports findings. + Makes sound recommendations when faced with complex and contradictory alternatives. **Supply Chain Planning Processes** + **Forecasting:** Knowledge of forecasting tools, approaches and practices; ability to determine product demand and estimate production requirements and loads. + **Manufacturing Requirements Planning (MRP):** Knowledge of the processes, practices and systems used in manufacturing requirements planning (MRP); ability to optimize planning for manufacturing cycles and ensure capacity and materials availability. + **Supplier Management - MFG:** Knowledge of processes and methods to effectively manage business relationships and transactions with suppliers of raw materials or product components; ability to apply related knowledge, experience and skills into real practice. + **Inventory Management:** Knowledge of processes and methods of inventory management; ability to effectively manage organization's materials, commodities, merchandises, or products. + **Logistics Management:** Knowledge of the processes, tools and operational considerations for effective and efficient movement of goods and materials; ability to understand, predict and control the movement of goods, materials and supplies. **Additional Information:** The primary location for this position is Peoria, IL. Domestic relocation assistance **is** available Up to 25% global travel may be required Sponsorship is not available **Summary Pay Range:** $156,000.00 - $234,000.00 Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience.
