Senior Supply Chain Project Manager – Inventory Strategy

The Supply Chain Project Manager – Inventory Strategy is responsible for MAG Supply Chain inventory/buffer strategy, execution, and continuous improvement. This individual serves as the primary link between Supply Chain and Site teams; driving collaborative strategy activities. The individual will analyze data, tools, processes and develop yearly purchase part replenishment method strategies that result in inventory reduction, higher turns, and margin improvement. Additionally, this individual will drive Supply Chain inputs and support for Plan for Every Part (PFEP) activity as well as alignment with Site Planning teams. A critical task for this role is to understand current process and governance and provide recommendations/improvements to drive Supply Chain activity to optimal inventory and performance levels.

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

·        Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject (e.g., Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering);

·        At least 7 years of progressive experience in supply chain, operations, or program/project management in a relevant industry

·        Experience in leadership role, specifically experience supporting large organizations with developing, executing, and governing processes

 

Preferred Qualifications:

·        Advanced degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Mechanical Engineering & Electrical Engineering

·        Strong analytical problem-solving abilities and experience with continuous improvement tools (ex: 5Y, 8D); Six Sigma/Lean training

·        Strong business and financial acumen; understanding of the drivers/impacts of financial performance within the Supply Chain

·        Must be able to collaborate and effectively influence across multiple functions, teams, and businesses to achieve required performance

·        Strong communication skills (written, verbal, presentation) and ability to present to numerous levels of leadership

·        Able to work in an environment with moderate degree of ambiguity and fluidity, supporting different teams/sites across different time zones

·        Experience with contractual requirements (e.g., FAR/DFAR, REACH, AEO, Technical Assistance Agreements, Manufacturing License Agreements, Import/Export regulations, EAR, ITAR)

 

 

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

·        Lead MAG Supply Chain teams to develop strategies around: replenishment methods, inventory management, buffer/safety stock levels, and PFEP to support 80/20 initiatives

·        Engage with suppliers to drive further adoption of replenishment methods via collaborative engagements and/or contracting actions

·        Monitor supplier engagement and performance to replenishment methods and take action to support needed improvements

·        Understand continuous improvement methodologies and leverage tools (ex: A3 problem-solving) to develop annual improvement plans

·        Drive alignment between Site teams and Supply Chain in project plan development to achieve critical Inventory goals; utilize standard metrics/KPIs within Supply Chain and Sites

·        Helps drive definition of project scope and objectives, involving needed stakeholders to ensure a solid project baseline

·        Develops and maintains a project plan to monitor and track progress to baseline; identifying risks, gaps, and needed resources to ensure achieving the needed goals

·        Communicate project status to internal leadership, including up through Operating Group leadership

·        Provides support for development of standard work, processes, and tools across the Supply Chain organization

·        Actively contribute to Site Supply Chain leadership including strategic planning, continuous improvement, and team building

·        Provide coaching/training to Supply Chain teams to drive better understanding of replenishment methodologies, buffer strategies, and overall execution efficiency

·        Willingness to travel (~15-20% of the time) to suppliers and/or other Moog sites

 

 

The base pay range for this opportunity is $120,000. - $190,000. per year.  The base salary range represents the low and high end of the Moog salary range for this position in the given work location. Actual salaries will vary depending on factors including location, experience, and performance. The range(s) listed is just one component of Moog's total compensation package for employees.
