Senior Supply Chain & Sourcing Specialist

 

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

The Senior Supply Chain Sourcing Professional reports to the Finance and Supply Chain Leader. The role of the Sr. Supply Chain Sourcing Professional is to manage and lead Sourcing and key Supply Chain activities for the Gastonia Nonwoven Plant (1 Production Line).  The incumbent will have thorough knowledge of materials replenishment planning, strategic sourcing, and process development. They will support the development and implementation of sourcing projects to best satisfy the needs of the customer, operations, and finance. They are responsible for the execution of processes to ensure the sourcing function is meeting all Plant operational requirements, sustaining Sarbanes Oxley compliance, driving productivity through sourcing initiatives, and leading corporate sourcing directives.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Living the safety stand and adhering to safety responsibilities

Ensures a safety focus in all sourcing processes and builds a culture where safety is the priority Conduct and document Hazard Identifications, Safe Behavior Observations, facility audits, etc.

 

Knowing our Suppliers  

Interfaces with suppliers to ensure Plant needs are met in a timely manner maintaining a cohesive relationship Role is responsible for managing spend, negotiating contracts, MRO, and capital purchasing activities. Develops, implements, and manages sourcing procedures and processes to ensure the plant receives the right materials/services in the right quantity at the right time. Manages and develops improvements to SOX compliant processes Strong bias for action and ability to react quickly within a dynamic business environment Management of supplier compliance to contracts, risk mitigation, and develop contingency plans Ensures compliance with company policies and standards around Level of Authority (LOA), contracts, and the contract repository. Drives results through TPM by directly engaging in the Office Pillar to drive results

 

Directing Operations

Understands and ensures that all plant sourcing processes to identify improvement opportunities Negotiates and execute Master Service Agreements, Purchase Agreements, Consulting Agreements, Statements of Work, and leases Leads and conducts detailed RFx scoping sessions with stakeholders and/or assist in the development, release, and coordination of RFI/RFQ/RFPs throughout supplier selection and contracting process for both plants. Leads negotiations with external suppliers and work with internal stakeholders to ensure all negotiations bring long term enterprise value, represent our core values, and strengthen supplier relationships. Identifies and negotiates risk mitigation strategies through contract terms and conditions and supplier relationship management.   Interacts with suppliers and internal stakeholders in ensuring a flawless procurement process Adhere to all company and sourcing policies and required by the TORA. Manages working capital performance through daily processes and SPOT Tool. Monitors and takes actions to minimize slow moving and obsolete spare parts Provides back-up coverage for Supply Chain and Sourcing team as needed

 

Productivity Improvement

Own and lead projects to deliver Sourcing productivity in excess of annual targets Continuously improves total costs by identifying and acting to capture cost reduction opportunities without jeopardizing security of supply while maintaining the goals of strategic supply planning Drives innovative thinking and creative solutions to reduce cost and improve the supply chain Leads Sourcing contribution to manufacturing productivity by working with suppliers, operations, and other teams, as needed Drives supplier and own location sustainability efforts

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

The employee must possess the following:

Ability to organize and lead multi-functional teams to achieve plant objectives. Strong listening and comprehension skills Excellent communication skills (written and oral) to effectively communicate with people across all levels of the organization Strong at managing projects through completion. Utilizing data and data collection systems, and lean methodology for problem-solving and decision-making to eliminate manufacturing losses and unnecessary costs. Able to create and implement strategic operations plans. Business and Financial acumen to understand the drivers of success and how they interact. External perspective and understands that all business opportunities start with the knowledge of how to create value for the customer Strong trouble-shooting skills.

 

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

Bachelor’s degree in supply chain or related field 5+ years of experience in supply chain or related field Finance acumen preferred Advanced in creating Power BI and Excel reports Advanced SAP Demonstrated success in driving results by engaging others and leading through influence Ability to solve complex problems through critical thinking and sustainable solutions
