Senior Survey Field Coordinator

Job Description:

Overview:

The Senior Field Coordinator is responsible for providing management oversight of field survey operations, including organization, scheduling, budgeting, and implementation for land development projects. This role ensures fieldwork is conducted efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with project requirements.

Responsibilities:

Develop and oversee project schedules, resource allocation, and budgeting for large-scale or complex survey projects.

Lead the planning and coordination of field crew assignments in collaboration with the Survey Manager, ensuring efficient and timely execution of work.

Review and approve field data, drawings, and calculations for accuracy and compliance with project specifications and standards.

Serve as the technical expert for field crews, providing guidance on advanced survey methods, equipment operation, and problem-solving.

Conduct detailed deed research and oversee the creation of base maps and survey deliverables.

Process and validate acquired field data to ensure accuracy in plats of survey and Metes and Bounds descriptions.

Manage and maintain survey equipment inventory, ensuring all tools are in optimal condition and properly calibrated.

Collaborate closely with Survey Managers, and stakeholders to ensure project goals are achieved and expectations are met.

Implement and improve field operation procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Lead the resolution of complex project challenges, ensuring projects remain on schedule and within budget.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED certification.

Minimum of 15 years of experience in a land surveying role, with significant experience in leadership or coordination roles.

Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D; working knowledge of MicroStation is highly desirable.

Extensive experience with boundary, topographic, and construction surveys.

Demonstrated ability to manage and lead large-scale survey projects and multiple field crews.

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make critical decisions in high-pressure environments.

Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Proven ability to mentor and train team members, promoting a collaborative and knowledgeable workforce.

Flexibility to adapt to evolving project demands and deadlines.

Must be dependable, proactive, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
