Senior Building Surveyor - Building Consultancy

An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Building Surveyor to join our Building Consultancy department in Nottingham. The team deals with a range of investor clients, including Aviva, Legal & General, Hammerson, Royal London, Threadneedle, AEW, Rail Pensions and Abrdn, corporate occupier clients such as Barclays, Asda and Capital One,  Higher Education clients including Nottingham University.

The successful candidate will join a busy regional office and be working alongside other internal departments such as Investment, Agency, Managed Services, Valuations, Lease Advisory, Planning and Rating, to provide holistic, commercial advice to our clients.

We are looking for an outward-looking, ‘all-rounder’ Building Surveyor with a sense of ‘team spirit’ and an ambition to deliver excellence.

What this job involves

Undertaking Building Surveyor's inspections and preparing reportsPreparing specifications for, and administering, repair and refurbishment contractsPreparing and negotiating schedules of dilapidations/preparing exit strategiesPreparing planned preventative maintenance plansUndertaking building reinstatement cost assessmentsAssisting with co-ordination of portfolio instructions and undertaking other duties from time to time as may be reasonably requiredMaking sustainable business links with both external and internal clients and offering a professional and excellent client service at all timesSome travel will be required in this role

Required to have the ability to work within a team and on own initiativeMust be enthusiastic, proactive and self-motivatedMust have strong verbal and numerical skills, and be comfortable with report writingRequires excellent time management and general organisational skillsIs required to be flexible and have the ability to work under pressureMust be well presented and have excellent communication skillsMRICS (building surveying) with proven experience, preferably PQE in a commercial consultancyExperience of AutoCAD an advantageGood working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and OutlookClean driving licence
