Do you want to play an important part in driving and developing Arla’s corporate sustainability ambitions? Arla is now looking for a new colleague to support us on our sustainability journey, focusing on climate and other environmental aspects.

You’ll be part of Arla’s Global Sustainability team, which means you will work together with other passionate sustainability experts and be part of the sustainability journey in Arla. You will work closely with colleagues who have in-depth expertise in various fields as environment, climate, life cycle assessments and commercial sustainability.

 

About the job

We're seeking a visionary individual to transform sustainability data into impactful insights, aiding in the documentation and development of our carbon footprint from farm to finished product.

In this pivotal role, you'll collaborate with IT, Commercial, and other forward-thinking teams to develop state-of-the-art systems for carbon footprint calculation. As a central figure in fostering cross-departmental collaboration, you'll engage with a diverse array of stakeholders, both within Arla and externally, to ensure the effective use of data.

You'll serve as the LCA methodological anchor point, safeguarding the development of Arla’s Product Carbon Footprint tool. This involves working closely with numerous stakeholders to implement and annually update new calculations. Engage in meaningful dialogues with business units, and dive deep into data to deliver and document results in line with our sustainability targets. Additionally, you'll report to external networks like the Sustainability Dairy Partnership, helping shape industry standards.

 

In essence your key responsibilities will include:
 

Co-develop and maintain Product Carbon Footprint (PCF) calculations to measure and reduce environmental impact Support the roll out, upscaling and automatization of PCF calculations. Assist in Annual corporate reporting Engage in external networks and the development of industry-specific product footprint guidelines and applications. Inspire and provide insights to colleagues on sustainability topics. Support in general sustainability data requests from customers on topics such as climate, nature, deforestation etc. Keep updated on the latest methodologies, tools and regulations related to LCA and PCF assessments.

 

 Who are you? 

Embark on an exhilarating journey with Arla, where your Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) expertise and data-driven passion can truly make a difference! We don’t expect you to be master of all below from day one - we do value an aspiration for development but hopefully you can tick mark the following to a certain extend:
 

Experience with Life Cycle Assessments (LCA), preferably applying methods from the Greenhouse Gas protocol and Product Environmental Footprint guidance. Proficiency in calculating product footprints using common LCA software, e.g., SimaPro and GaBi. Possess solid Excel experience and have attention to details and the ability to find structures in big data pools. Excellent presentation skills to explain complex messages clearly and simply. Thrive in a fast moving and highly international environment while collaborating with various stakeholders. Possess knowledge of international sustainability standards and regulations Experience from a FMCG company is an advantage Fluency in English, both spoken and written. Other languages can be an advantage.
