Senior System Administrator III (On-Site)

KBC is seeking a Senior System Administrator III to lead the overall operations of the server and virtual environments by monitoring resources and implementing changes or repairs as necessary. Serves as IT Project Team Lead on all Server/System related initiatives. Trains and mentor’s other department team members. Reports to the Vice President of Information Technology (VPIT). Job duties include, but are not limited to: + Acts as subject matter expert (SME) and functional lead in system administration, supporting VPIT in achieving objectives and maintaining service levels; delegates tasks, provides mentorship and training, and issues their access according to training level. Establishes system specifications by: + Analyzing workflow, access, information, and security requirements. + Designing and maintaining systems administration, including interface configuration. Establishes and maintains server and virtual systems by: + Evaluating system performance issues including availability, utilization, and throughput. + Planning and executing the selection, installation, configuration, and testing of equipment. + Manages system security and administers user access; maintains email applications. + Responsible for the configuration of all internal systems. + Drives the deployment of new applications and systems, ensuring smooth and successful implementation. + Monitors overall health of the environment including Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, file security and accessibility. + Oversees and monitors data backups for integrity, completion and disaster recovery operations performed by other department System Administrators. + Performs and guides troubleshooting processes for problems with physical and virtual systems, and for basic network connectivity and provides guidance on all changes needed for issues found. + Provides user support and fulfills help desk functions as needed, assisting employees with IT issues. + Develops, analyzes and provides reports and queries, as assigned, and keeps VPIT apprised of workflow, statuses, and challenges. + Upholds department operational and security Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Recommends and collaborates with VPIT on budgetary items for enhancements to the architecture and design of the systems to improve performance, reliability, and scalability; supports strategic planning in areas of expertise. + Updates and maintains all Technical System documentation and assists with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). + Fulfills special projects and other responsibilities as assigned and serves as Project Team Lead for System Administrator team. Working Environment & Physical Effort This position requires the ability to: + Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time. + Carry out basic clerical duties (typing/writing) for extended periods of time. + Occasionally lift/carry up to 40 pounds. + Occasionally bend or reach to perform various job tasks. + Safely ascend/descend a ladder. + Analyze complex situations and make sound decisions. + Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure. + Occasionally travel to carry out essential job functions. Qualifications: + Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or other similar major preferred; appropriate combination of education and related IT work experience with high school diploma (or equivalent) required. Related industry certifications are a plus. + 3 to 5 years of progressive, relevant experience administering systems, applications, and servers. + Advanced proficiency with MS Office, Adobe, web applications, and custom systems (as user and administrator). + Applicable knowledge of one or more scripting languages. + Solid understanding of LAN/WAN networks and system security techniques. + Strong customer service and communication skills with the ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization. + Must operate as a subject matter expert, with demonstrated skills in training, delegating tasks, and mentoring other team members. + Ability to organize and manage workload, and to work a flexible schedule, to include on-call rotation for IT coverage after hours and on weekends. + Valid KY driver's license with clean driving record; requires periodic travel to satellite locations. + Proof of education/certifications required during the interview process.
