How You'll Grow

\n\nAnalytical ability: Continually evaluate our Observability offerings and make recommendations for our build v buy strategy, including evaluations of multiple vendor offerings as compared to Open Source software offerings\nCollaborative ability: Drive projects across the rest of Engineering, working with all Engineering product units, Product management, and Security organizations\nTechnical ability: identify design and execution tradeoffs, with consideration to cost, performance, security, simplicity, and functionality. Communicate strategic approach through position papers, implement chosen approach, directing and delegating to others as necessary.\n\n

Things You’ll Do

\n\n\nManage our observability platform, ensuring reliable systems monitoring and alerting\nDevelop and maintain secure, high performing, scalable and cost-effective systems\nBe involved in architectural design decisions and drive system improvements\nEnsure on-time delivery of projects and creation of automated solutions for issue resolution\nOversee platform lifecycle, document systems and participate in technical analysis\nAddress complex problem-solving, including system feature design and complexity mitigation\nMonitor operational metrics and assist teams in resolving issues during incidents\nCollaborate across engineering teams to resolve issues and foster relationships\nProactively address platform and infrastructure gaps by gathering feedback and setting standards\nParticipate in on-call rotation and manage operational needs\nGuide and drive improvements across multiple teams within the organization \n\n \nWhat We’re Looking For On Your Resume\n\nProficiency in programming languages such as Python, Ruby, Go or Java\nExperience with distributed systems and microservices architectures\nProven ability to troubleshoot complex issues, navigate through unfamiliar code, and quickly learn new technologies\nStrong experience with Linux OS and its administration\nUnderstanding of containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)\nExcellent analytical and problem-solving skills\nStrong communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team and across various teams\nLeadership experience in driving initiatives across numerous teams\nHands-on experience with monitoring and logging tools: Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, Elastic Stack, New Relic, Datadog\nExperience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools (Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, Chef)\nKnowledge and practice of DevOps culture\nExperience in incident response and root cause analysis\nFamiliarity with Chaos Engineering and Game Days\nExperience with distributed tracing systems (Jaeger, Zipkin)\n\n
