Primary Responsibilities

HDR is seeking an experiencedSystem Protection Studies (SPS) Engineer.The primary duties of the SPS Engineer position include responsibility for knowledge and execution of the technical aspects and deliverables of projects assigned and is an experienced, competent engineer who generally understands and can complete all technical requirements of projects of basic to moderate complexity.

Job Duties:

Conducting analyses to develop design options, performing modeling and/or calculationsComplete engineering calculation reports such as load flow, short circuit, grounding and arc flash studiesPerform routine engineering and design tasks, and participate in field reviews or construction observationMay work independently on small tasks and may assist senior engineers on larger, more complex projects.Perform other duties as needed.Ability to scope project assignments; provide technical write-ups and estimate man hours for future opportunitiesProvide testing and commissioning plansProvide a review of engineering work deliverables following HDR’s QA/QC proceduresProvide mentorship to junior team members

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Architectural Engineering with an Electrical emphasisA minimum of 10 years experience  in electrical design of buildings (lighting/power/systems);Professional Engineer (PE) license Extensive knowledge of building electrical power, lighting and signal design, including life safety systems and building management systems Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office and AutoCAD, and electrical design software An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
