Are you passionate about Information Technology? S&C Electric Company is seeking a dynamic individual to coordinate our systems function. As a Senior Systems Administrator, you’ll be crucial in ensuring smooth operations and supporting our diverse team. A Senior Systems Administration is responsible for providing functional and technical support for S&C’s Global on-premises and cloud server & storage infrastructure and the Microsoft 365 SaaS environment. The technical knowledge desired includes Microsoft Azure technologies, Microsoft Hybrid Identity, Microsoft 365 Administration, Microsoft Cloud Security Platforms, server hardware, Windows/Linux server operating systems, VMware vSphere, and SAN technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Service
Respond to end-user calls to clarify and assist the client with problem resolution and hardware/software needs. Engender the confidence of clients that work will be completed at the required level of quality. Purchase or assist with acquiring approved hardware and software.Technical Support
Plan, design, and support Azure, M365 technologies (including Exchange Online, SharePoint, and Teams), global VMware Infrastructure, Client/Server business applications, and server and storage hardware solutions. Follow established standard work and best practices; define new standard work as appropriate. Identify and correct server-related problems caused by hardware/software failures. Document configurations, instructions, and troubleshooting guides for Systems Administrator services and supported technologies. Maintain and upgrade infrastructure systems regularly. Investigate, provision, and deploy new technologies and solutions to support business and product growth and development.Project Work
Technical Lead on Infrastructure Services’ projects following S&C’s established project management methodology, processes/tools. Support project efforts as assigned. Record time spent on project tasks and completed project tasks in timesheets.Strategic Planning
Test and document system behavior, performance, and security Work with peers and clients to develop hardware/software standards and implementation strategies. Work with IT Leadership to develop financial plans and budgets based on alignment with technological innovation and industry standard advancement. Create detailed architecture designs for next-generation technologies and create guidelines for enhancements based on current production deployments.
What you’ll Need To Succeed:
A 4-year degree in Information Systems, computer-related field, or equivalent experience 5 years of experience managing and supporting Microsoft Hybrid Identity (AD and Azure Entra ID) and Microsoft 365 (including Exchange, SharePoint, and Teams). 5 years of experience managing and supporting Windows and Linux servers and on-prem and cloud infrastructure, preferably Azure and VMware. Ability to read, analyze, configure, and make improvement recommendations on managed technologies. Proficiency in managing and troubleshooting various operating systems - Windows Server required, Linux preferred. Experience with virtualization technologies – VMware required, Hyper-V preferred. Proficiency in scripting languages like PowerShell, Bash, or Python for automation. Ability to create technical and financial analysis and proposal document. Skills to work both independently with no supervision as well as in a team environment.
Preferred:
Azure and Microsoft 365 Certifications. Strong understanding of network protocols, configurations, and troubleshooting. Understanding of security best practices, including firewall configurations, intrusion detection, and vulnerability assessments.
