Senior Systems Administrator
What The Role Is

The Senior Systems Administrator is a key member of the IT Infrastructure team at Clearway Energy Group (CEG).  The Systems Administrator is responsible for managing, monitoring, & maintaining CEG’s IT infrastructure, including servers, software, desktop systems, and cloud infrastructure across locations in the United States. These operations include corporate offices, data centers, and wind and solar power generation plants owned and/or managed by CEG.  The Systems Administration team ensures that critical infrastructure is secure, highly available, right-sized, and compliant with all regulatory guidelines by which CEG is governed.

What You'll Be Doing

Systems/Applications Integration Support:

Responsible for the maintaining, updating, and planning, and the installation of servers and application software. Provide support for the CEG Microsoft Office 365 environment, including account management, email security, and device maintenance and deployment. Provide support for a complex Azure Active Directory, including identity access management and administering AD topologies in a hybrid environment. Assist in the design of proper systems architecture to achieve CEG’s strategic business goals. Coordinate with the CEG compliance and cybersecurity teams to align processes with all regulatory requirements. Assist in the deployment of new infrastructure and application integration to support business needs. Assist in the development and documentation of technical standards, ticketing system problem queue entry and closure, and interface applications. Participate in planned maintenance activities to ensure IT systems are properly implemented and maintained according to best practices with as little impact on the business as possible. Develop and maintain proper processes, procedures, and system documentation according to industry best practices and regulatory requirements.

Servers and Storage Hardware & Software Systems Support:

Analyze, implement, and support servers, storage hardware, and network equipment. Assist in the monitoring of storage, disk usage, and system tuning, and make recommendations. Support the maintenance of data storage, backup, server patches, and vulnerability remediation. Ensure the company’s data is sufficiently replicated and/or backed up to meet regulatory requirements. Provide direct support for end-users. Responsibilities may require evening and weekend work in response to needs of the systems being supported. What You'll Bring

This role requires expert-level knowledge of the following:

Microsoft Windows Server operating system, Microsoft M365, and Intune Microsoft Azure Active Directory, AD Group Policy, AD Federation/Integration in a hybrid environment VMware Virtual Center, hypervisors, and management tools Compute infrastructure and Server Manager software. Hyperconverged Infrastructure and server systems SSL certificate management Understanding of disaster recovery principals

This role requires a strong working knowledge of the following:

Network Load Balancing Networking concepts (i.e., Firewalls, VLANs and VLAN tagging, IP subnetting, IP routing, etc.) Encryption technologies (i.e. SSL, TLS, VPNs, etc.) Data center facilities (i.e., power, UPS, cooling, etc.) Storage arrays and Network Attached Storage (NAS) solutions ITIL framework Capacity and resource planning capabilities and knowledge of associated relevant tools Knowledge of data center security policies and procedures, penetration testing, and methods of auditing Strong incident management skills. Regulatory compliance experience Exceptional work ethic and time management skills Ability to work well unsupervised and/or as part of a team. Strong communication skills and a commitment to customer service Ability to travel 10% of the time, and on short notice. Participate in after-hours on-call rotation as necessary for problem resolution, and project management/installations. What Would Be Nice An Associate or bachelor’s degree in information systems or a similar field is preferred. Significant experience in key Information Technology abilities will be considered in lieu of a formal degree. 2 years of experience designing, implementing, administering, and supporting server and storage infrastructure as well as Microsoft directory services and messaging platforms in an enterprise environment Experience working in a NERC regulated environment.
