The Iowa Public Employees Retirement System (IPERS) is seeking an Application Architect to assist with tasks associated with phase 1 project acceptance of our IQue system.
Complete Description:
This position will advise IPERS CIO and senior technical staff on issues related to system performance, database design, integrity / quality of programming source code, as well as internal processes to improve system testing / quality assurance, release management, application support, and planning process for future application / architectural changes.
Specific tasks may include:
• Conduct application design and source code review and analysis. Provide written response to findings and recommendations (if any) for improvement.
• Perform code walkthroughs with other software team members. Moderate these walkthroughs as necessary to keep meetings on track.
• Conduct database design review and analysis. Provide written response to findings and recommendations (if any) for improvement.
• Assist with development and / or improvement of processes / procedures to perform integration testing and assist with the development of test scripts
• Advise senior leaders on best practices / processes to improve project implementation strategy
• Review technical documentation analysis and advise on gaps, and / or best practices / processes to improve
Required Skills & Abilities:
• Java and / or PL/SQL Development – 10 yrs, Oracle 11g – 3 yr
• Evaluation of java based systems – 10 yrs.
