Position Overview:
The Senior Systems Engineers role will be to help build, maintain, and expand relationships with Cleaver-Brooks channel partners and customers. This role will also be assigned direct management responsibility for key accounts to help provide those customers with additional system and solution support for their current and future projects.
The Senior Systems Engineer will work as part of the team to drive sales by representing all of the company’s products, parts and services but will be focused on technical engineering support throughout North America for our Packaged Boiler products. Responsibilities will be to help increase sales of new equipment in our steam, hydronics and sustainability markets by focusing on helping customers solve their design issues.
This role will provide technical support for internal product sales teams, Cleaver-Brooks channel partners and customers, in order to help everyone make informed decisions regarding system layout and design as well as the optimal product selection. This individual will help provide market feedback to R&D, engineering and production to assist with quality control, product development, market positioning and market pricing.
Job Responsibilities:
Help achieve the annual sales targets for all packaged boiler products. Work directly with channel partners, assigned key accounts as well as other customers to review and help support pre-sales design questions and assist with the generation of proposals. Help provide system and product training directly to channel partners and customers. Assist in development of standard sales partner onboarding and system/product training programs Assist in specification and development of Clarifications and exceptions review for large complex projects as needed. Generate proposals for any house accounts and assist reps with development of large system proposals Coordinates the involvement of company personnel, including support, service, and management resources, to meet partner performance objectives and customers’ expectations. Proactively assesses, clarifies, and validates partner needs on an ongoing basis to eliminate roadblocks to sales. Including but not limited to updating existing or development of new sales tools, drawings and technical documentation. Attend relevant trade association events and training seminars. Drives adoption and fosters communication of company programs. All other duties as assigned.Accountabilities & Performance Measures:
Achieves assigned sales quota in designated key accounts. Meets assigned expectations for profitability. Assists in the development of partner account plans and activities to achieve targeted sales results. Maintains high partner satisfaction ratings that meet company standards. Completes required training and/or development objectives within the assigned time frame.Organizational Alignment:
Reports to Vice President of Sales for Packaged Boiler Enlists the support of sales, engineering, marketing, service resources and other management resources as needed. Closely coordinates company executive involvement with partner and end-user customer management as appropriate. Works closely with Reginal Managers, Customer Service Representatives and Technical Service representatives to ensure customer satisfaction and problem resolution. Works closely with company sales engineering team to ensure product pricing, options and communications are properly applied.Qualifications:
Four-year college degree from an accredited institution. 7–10 years of experience in B2B sales, preferably within the HVAC, boiler, or industrial equipment industry. Familiarity with hydronic and heat-pumps system design is preferred. Prior experience working with channel partners, key accounts, and technical sales is highly desirable. Experience with system design, proposal development, and product training is a plus. Proficiency in PC applications is preferred, including MS office suite, AutoCAD, Revit.Travel Requirements: This position requires travel (20-30%) and will require you to obtain valid passport with no Canadian restrictions. Weekend travel is not typical.
