Senior Systems Engineer

Your contribution

As a technical lead, you will guide the lifecycle management of complex laboratory devices. You will work closely with product management, as well as various disciplines within R&D including mechanical, electrical, software engineering, and application science and with production engineering. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the ongoing success of some of Tecan's most valuable products.

 

Responsibilities

Lead and mentor the engineering team to drive interdisciplinary development throughout the product lifecycle. Implement technical updates in coordination with engineers, product management, project management, and OEM customers. Engineering leadership to sustain, improve, and enhance existing product portfolios. Identify and evaluate design changes based on commercial and project criteria through comprehensive impact assessments and risk analyses. Manage and maintain system architecture and product requirements. Evaluate relevant technologies and conduct feasibility studies. Execute root cause analysis beyond subsystem and system interfaces. Manage design configuration and documentation control. Execution of design reviews.

Bachelor's or Master's degree in life science or engineering, with experience in technical leadership. Proven experience in technical analysis and concept development for instruments, preferably in the medical device industry. Strong skills in root cause analysis, problem solving, configuration management, and risk assessment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team.
