Senior Systems Engineer

The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Senior Systems Engineer to support our government customer located in Honolulu, Hawai'i.

As an Enterprise Level Senior Systems Engineer you will develop, maintain, and enhance complex and diverse systems (e.g., processing-intensive analytics, manipulation of extremely large data sets, real-time systems such as Active Directory Servers, VMs, Endpoint Configuration Management servers, and Storage Area Network servers) based upon documented requirements.

In this role you will be responsible for hardware and software integration, infrastructure, and provisioning. You will apply systems engineering principles throughout the systems life cycle phases: Concept, Development, Production, Utilization, Support, and Retirement. You will interact with the Government customer regarding Systems Engineering technical considerations and for associated problems, issues or conflicts. You will communicate with other program personnel, government overseers, and senior executives. You will own the responsibility for the technical integrity, quality, and completeness of work performed and deliverables associated with one or more of the 25 process areas defined by the System Engineering Lifecycle.

DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead initiatives to push authentication technologies to Windows and Linux hosts, SAN fabric devices, storage arrays and multiple applications. Maintain DNS and DHCP servers. Write scripts to monitor and manipulate the virtual environment with PowerCLI and PowerShell. Create documentation for cloud-based migration projects including all test plans and test cases. Track and fulfill changing global and regional cloud management requirements. Advise Active Directory, MECM, VM/SAN Enterprise Managers on specific techniques for M365, Azure, and other cloud-based accessibility. Implement and foster ITIL v4 best practices where needed. Design and implement in-house software application functionality analysis methodology, including monitoring procedures, using hardware and OS monitoring tools. Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of a work product in Technical Process Areas associated with the Systems Engineering Lifecycle. Perform systems engineering activities and assist in the preparation of multiple work products in Project and/or Technical Process Areas associated with any of the Systems Engineering Lifecyle processes. Perform analysis of technical alternatives for a project and make preliminary recommendations. Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products of either the System Engineering Lifecycle Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas. Independently analyze and recommend alternatives for elements of project’s technical design. Perform systems engineering activities and develop and deliver work products in each of the System Engineering Lifecycle Project and Technical Process Areas. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET accredited or CAE designated institution. Must meet at least one of the following baseline certifications Intermediate Level: FITSP-D or GDSA or CASP+ or CCSP or Cloud+ or CSSLP or GSEC or Advanced Level: CISSO or GCIA or GCSA or GCLD or GICSP or CISSP-ISSAP or CISSP-ISSEP.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

Must have Operator/Administrator/Engineering level knowledge of M365, and Azure. Must have Operator/Administrator/Engineering level knowledge of Active Directory, MECM, VM and SAN. Ability to performing engineering activities in the Systems Engineering Lifecyle Agreement or Enterprise Process Areas. Develop and deliver a work product in any of the System Engineering Lifecycle Process Areas. Working knowledge and familiarization with the DOD System Engineering Guidebook (Feb. 2022). Ability to Implement and foster ITIL v4 best practices where needed. Ability to write scripts with PowerCLI and PowerShell.

REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

Must be a U.S. Citizen. Must have an active Top-Secret clearance, OR a SECRET clearance with the ability to upgrade.
