Position Description: Excitement and eagerness to learn and implement new system and capabilities in the airborne intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) mission space.
In this position, the candidate will be responsible for the architecture, design, development, and integration of ISR software systems. In this position, the candidate will perform as a technical lead on projects and business pursuits as a Senior Systems Engineer with an understanding of disciplined system engineering processes as well as technical domain knowledge.
In this position, the candidate will plan, execute, and provide systems engineering leadership for projects with multiple team members including systems architecture and design, documentation (such as test plans and procedures, requirements definition and verification) and perform on-site integration and test at customer facilities. This position will provide opportunities to work directly with technical peers, chief engineers, systems engineering, program managers within the company, and independent interactions with external facing customers.
Responsibilities:
Lead ISR systems technical requirements development, architecture, design, integration, and test efforts Perform technical trade studies related to ISR systemsDevelop risk management and mitigation plans for complex systemsContribute on proposal generation encompassing technical performance, cost, and scheduleIncorporate Systems Engineering rigor with respect to requirements development, segmentation, flow-down, verification, and validationProvide technical leadership to systems engineering and software engineering teams on projectsProvide technical guidance to the project team regarding technical decisions on each project in the areas of:Digital Signal Processing and Software Architecture ImplementationsSystems (SW and HW) Requirements and DesignDetailed Hardware Design and ImplementationDetailed Software Design and ImplementationSystems Integration and TestDemonstrate domain technical knowledge regarding Signal Processing Architectures and Systems related to ISRWork closely with program management, chief engineers, and principal engineers to appropriately identify and manage challenging issues
Requirements:
Current DoD Top Secret Security Clearance (requires U.S. Citizenship)Bachelor’s degree in computer science or engineering from an accredited university. May consider equivalent experience in lieu of degree Ten (10) or more years of experience in similar position with a minimum of seven (7) years in signal collection and signal processing systemsUnderstanding and demonstrated ability with the systems engineering requirements process and Vee modelExperience with software defined radios and their application in ISR systemsExperience with wireless communications systems and protocols using AM, FM, BPSK, QPSK, QAMUnderstanding of electromagnetic fundamentals related to antennas and receiving systemsProven ability to operate in a fast-paced and collaborative small team environmentPossess excellent communication skills, with an emphasis on verbal and written communicationExperience in successfully leading technical teams throughout a project life cycleAbility to travel approximately 20% of the time
Preferences:
DoD SCI Security Clearance Master’s degree or PhD in the field of Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent Understanding of and experience with airborne ISR direction finding systemsUnderstanding of and experience with machine learning in embedded (or “edge”) environmentsExperience leading research and development (R&D) efforts with a track record of publications and/or demonstrations. R&D efforts resulting in fielded capabilities is strongly preferred.
Salary Range: $152,660 - $276,161
