The Work
Lockheed Martin Rotary & Mission Systems is seeking a full-time Systems Engineer. In this role, you will be supporting the Submarine C5I Systems Engineering and Integration (SE&I) team in the design, integration, and testing of submarine combat systems at our Lockheed Martin Manassas, VA site. The Sub C5I SE&I team facilitates System of Systems (SoS) feature development and integration and frequent SoS testing/feedback to Sub C5I subsystems to ensure that NAVSEA provides a robust combat system to the Submarine Force. As a member of the SE&I team you will be involved in SoS features from development through test and delivery to the Fleet.
Responsibilities include:
• Interface with customers for technical collaboration and system integration efforts.
• Foster a good working relationship with internal and external stakeholders.
• Perform test and evaluation efforts in support of SoS testing.
• Develop and maintain test documentation and procedures.
• Troubleshoot hardware and software related bugs.
• Verify and Validate bug resolution.
• Manage hardware and software configurations.
• Install and maintain hardware and software.

Basic Qualifications:
To excel in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in a related discipline, or equivalent experience/combined education, with 5 years of professional experience; or 3 years of professional experience with a related Master’s degree.
• Demonstrated systems engineering and integration/test experience developing complex technical solutions for large scale projects.
• Ability to lead the development of new SoS capabilities from design through integration and sell-off.
• Familiarity with Model-Based Systems Engineering principles and tools.
• Qualified candidates must be able to obtain a DoD Secret Security Clearance. This requires U.S. Citizenship.
Desired Skills:
• Operational experience using submarine combat systems at sea
• Experience with submarine combat systems or similar Command, Control, Communication, Computer, Cyber, and Intelligence (C5I) systems
• Experience with DevSecOps practices
• Experience with working on teams in a geographically dispersed and virtual environment
• Familiarity with system and software architecture concepts such as containerization, virtualization, etc.
• Familiarity with Linux command line, computer systems and switch architecture
• Critical thinker with a continuous learning mindset
• Excellent communications skills and ability to collaborate with internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work independently and in a team dynamic with a self-starter mindset
• Ability to support traveling to pier-side events to support navy submarine testing
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
